Scott Joins Alan Butler for America Unearthed: Secret Blueprint of America

Not only is Alan Butler a brilliant mind, he is an even better person.

Alan has appeared in three America Unearthed episodes so far and each time has been more interesting and fun.  We were thrilled to feature Alan’s work in his book, Washington D.C.: City of the Goddess.  I truly believe his megalithic yard research reveals what might be the city’s biggest secret of all.

Although this secret clearly resided within a very tight circle of Freemasons, what still puzzles me was how they were able to hide it for so long?  Whoever the individuals were, and are, their identities will likely continue to be a tightly kept secret.  However, there is one individual Alan and I feel we can put a face to that was part of that inner circle; Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

There were two facts that indicated Roosevelt's knowledge of the megalithic system and its importance in Washington D.C.:

  1. The final location of the Pentagon that we discussed in the show.
  2. The placement of his monument within the city after his death at his request.

I’m not talking about the amazing series of massive granite and bronze that make up the monument to his four terms as president dedicated in 1997 by President Bill Clinton.  Roosevelt insisted on a modest piece of limestone placed in a specific spot along Pennsylvania Avenue.

During filming, we sought out this stone during breaks in filming to see if corresponded to the megalithic system within the city.  Predictably it did.  This makes two specific locations that conform to the megalithic system whose locations were personally selected by the President.

Letter of the week:

Dear Scott Wolter,

The America Unearthed Washington DC episode was enlightening. I'm aware of Dan Brown's book on mysteries here, but I've never heard anyone mention an ancient system of measurement used to design the nation's capital. Alan Butler seems like a good guy to have a pint with.

Is this at all related to V. Garth Norman's work on a consistent system of measurement between Egypt and Central America? A video on his work here here - http://youtu.be/TDqVKeC_OFU

Thanks,

Mark Yalets

  1. I was wondering if you had any thoughts on the Anti-Masonic Party of the 1820s & 30s, and if they perhaps represented an early pushback against Masonic control?

    1. The Anti-Masonic Party was a pushback against the perceived, and very real, power and influence of Masonic bodies in early American History. I have not studied this topic in any depth, but it might make for an interesting future episode? Thanks!

    2. Other than old rocks, what are you actually qualified to go on about in depth about? Why not just make some stuff up like your Bible influenced alternate theories since you said yourself you've never even read the book and it really doesn't matter whether you have or not.

    3. Do you want to try asking your question in an intelligent manner or are you just being sarcastic for the fun of it?

    4. Speaking of old rocks, when will you investigate the Ica or Inca stones? I know it's ludicrous that Dinosaur and man coexisted but so is space travel. I can't remember the exact name of the stones but I'm sure you have heard of them? Found out of Columbia

If we get a season 4 we very likely will investigate something in this vein.

  5. I have not read Alan's book about time-travel so I really can't comment either way. However, I know he is a sound mathematician and believes he has enough data to conclude the moon is an engineered object.

It's controversial to say the least, but who knows, he might just be right.

  6. Hi Scott, I am from Australia and have managed to get hold of and look at your shows. I find it quite understandable & highly probable that other ancient cultures journeyed across the oceans to the US & Australia but as you show shows it is proving it that counts. Keep up the good search. Eric R

  7. Hi Eric,

Glad to see the show has reached you. We will keep up the good search; it's a difficult task to be sure especially when there are factions trying hard to stymie us. It makes it all the more challenging and worthwhile.

  8. Hi Scott,

My mom and I are big fans of the show and don't miss an episode. I think you do a great service by bringing these interesting historical artifacts and places to light. You've become something of a hero to me for challenging the academic orthodoxy. While I don't think many of the artifacts are legitimate, I think there are enough of them (and more importantly, enough evidence) that some of them are - which is very exciting.

I feel that some of the episodes unfortunately provide cannon fodder for your critics. I don't think you really thought there was anything below the Denver airport. Did you really have to even go down that road? If a megalithic yard is 2.72 feet and 366 of them has some significance... that's about 995 feet. Couldn't some monuments in DC just be 1000 feet apart? Do you pick the subject matter for each episode or do producers? Do you ever do an episode where you think to yourself... gee this is just going to lend credence to my critics? Similarly on a comment on this blog, when you say that you don't know about Alan Butler's theory on the moon being 'engineered' but that "anything is possible"... I think it's unhelpful for the reputation of the show to even talk about such outlandish conspiracy theories.

Anyway, I really enjoy the show and hope there's a season 3. How have season 2's ratings been in comparison to season 1? You have to have a really thick skin to challenge academia and withstand the barrage of criticism. I really appreciate the work you do. I think you're doing a great service for society. What's the best way for viewers to let History know that we want another season? Keep inspiring us.

Thanks for doing this blog and being so responsive to fans,
    David

  9. David,

First, thank you for the compliments. I do appreciate positive feedback and have no problem fielding criticism either. I'm happy to respond to legitimate questions and if people want blatant negativity there are other places to go.

Of course I have my own ideas about certain episodes before we film them. Some I'm very excited about and others less excited. However, I go into each one knowing that I'm going to see something I didn't expect that invariably ramps up my interest level quickly. Often it'll be an interesting individual who brings new knowledge we can all learn from. Sometimes it's a person who is just a joy to be around like Stacy at the Denver Airport. She was great.

Overall, ratings have been very good for both seasons and we're hopeful of getting more seasons, but you never know. We've had an amazing ride so far and if we don't get another season I'll be disappointed for sure. However, I'll still be immensely grateful for what we have been able to share with the world. I'm a very fortunate guy regardless what happens.

  10. So, I have "finally" found Scott's blog. I am a different David from above. I first read Scott's book "Hooked X" after seeing the show on the "Templars". So I left a message on the email and, my god, he called me. One hour later, I realized that it is absolutely impossible to read his books like a "novel". Boy, talk about being a little embarrassed. I missed more then I could have imagined. The upshot is I re-read it at least 3 or more times and everytime found more that I have missed. that was almost, I think 4 years ago.

I will post much more now that I've located the "secret" forum (smiles). Of course, all of your shows do one thing the best. It forces you to the bookstores for more information and research. Damn the doubters - charge ahead.

Good work. Maybe someday, you will be on the west coast for a conference or something in the bay area. Can't wait.

  11. there are many other scientists and researchers out there that subscribe to the "megalithic yard". for starters, a person could read up on Professor Alexander Thom, Christopher Knight and Robert Lomas (Uriel's Machine), Here is also a website for your study.

""""""The Megalithic yard (32.4 inches) is virtually duplicated in the ancient Vara of Iberia (Iberia meaning 'Hebrews'), which was the former name for Spain and in the Gaz measurement of Northern India.

There is a substantial amount of evidence suggesting that prehistoric people were aware of geometry. The first recorded evidence of geometry came from Sir. N. Lockyer, who noticed that Stonehenge was geometrically aligned with both Grovely Castle and Old Sarum."""""""

this is a quote from the above website -- there is much to learn here and that is one reason it is so easy to spot the "people who have no interest in any of this" but are here anyway. there are many other websites they can go to but the fact is, most of them probably have been banned and that's why their here.

I pay NO attention to the bad mouthing people. they have never done nor will they ever do "original" research. I would like to see their "libraries".

  12. Dave,

I have expressed my views in an earlier post about "debunkers." They are not serious people doing legitimate research and will only waste people's time. Their sole point is to argue against whatever is presented using sources like Wiki; a fraudulent, known anti-diffusion site. People trust this on-line source when in this arena it's totally bogus. One example is on America Unearthed ‘s Wiki page, they give an opinion about the KRS being a hoax, which has never been proven and is completely inappropriate for a resource that's supposed to be neutral. It's total nonsense.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hi Nate,

Can I ask which tribe you are part of? I honestly don't know if Native Americans are connected to the Lost Tribes of Israel. However, I can tell you that the Bat Creek Stone and the Tucson Lead Artifacts are genuine and have Hebrew text indicating that Hebrews were in America in the 1st/2nd and 8th/9th centuries for sure.

Were they associated with the Lost Tribes? Maybe. There is more work to be done to conclusively answer that question, but the more I learn, the more I'm beginning to think that is a real possibility.

Stay tuned as I'm hoping to shed more light on this subject in the near future.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Why don't you use the scientific method and try to prove these theories false instead of using words like "could it be" and "is it possible"?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Anonymous,

What gave you the idea my colleagues and I don't use proper scientific method? After 30 years of running a materials forensic laboratory I think I understand the process better than anyone; most notably better than many academics.

The process involves compiling factual data first and foremost. The next step is to interpret the data, and if enough data is assembled that supports a conclusion that can be replicated and hold up under testing and scrutiny, it becomes accepted. Keep in mind that new data may come forward that supports a new and better thesis. If the data assembled is not consistent and conclusive then you are obligated to state it "could be" or "it is possible."

I wish more academic types were capable of saying, "I don't know.'' I've done it many times when there wasn't enough data to draw a conclusion and it doesn't hurt (as in physically painful).

    1. My advice to you Scott is don't listen to negative comments because it only keeps you from finding the truth but I know very well when it comes to the truth that not always is it out there.Remember the truth is the real lie and the lie is the truth.yes you and I as investigators like to know how, why.but your point on the Internet and books and tv don't always tell the truth, yes it may be 1 or 2% right but not 100% right.here's the thing sometimes we all see things that are very interesting and sometime we all don't know what we see.but I think some people want to know what they see and want answers and yes some well get frustrated that they still don't know what they have seen but you got to remember that we live in a technology and reverse engineering country and some things are normal everyday objects and some are planetary objects and some are unknown but who knows.

taking this statement and trying to analysis it, i come up short. First and foremost, why is it that "one" item of question is used to "condemn" an artifact. Take as an example ---- Meriwether Lewis was supposed to have blown his brains out but was still alive enough to reload a flintlock pistol........ --- Now on the face of it, what is wrong with this statement.

    1) -- the caliper used by Lewis was 0.69 -- you do realize this is bigger by .19 then a 50 caliper machine gun round. Now you take the vibration damage from a machine gun round and apply it to your brain. Gets ugly real fast, doesn't it. If you read the example provided below, you will find that "gun" experts find the "existing" story of the "suicide" a laughing matter and the "historians" come off as a bunch of idiots. The ball (tested by firearms people) show the ball weighed 568 GR with a 600 ft/sec velocity and an impact force of 454 footpounds. The range was about 12 inches...... This is way "historians" to me should be fired and NEVER on a gov't payroll.

    http://books.google.com/books?id=gd6l1SyGksEC&pg=PA92&lpg=PA92&dq=caliber+of+flintlock+pistol+meriwether+lewis&source=bl&ots=YTW1ez1g_o&sig=UcyAGRVy9OEYLMP-b_hXMJxHPhs&hl=en&sa=X&ei=WXpFU-ecH8afyQHVvoGwDQ&ved=0CD0Q6AEwAg#v=onepage&q=caliber%20of%20flintlock%20pistol%20meriwether%20lewis&f=false

    2) look at the "wiki" story on "flintlocks (I know, I know, its "wiki" but....) and tell me if you could reload and fire a flintlock like the books say he did.

  20. me very bad --- here is the book in question

  21. I should add the the range of 12" is wrong --- why --- because the gun itself was 14 1/2" long --- see this whole story is just that -- a story.

  31. In regard to the Lewis Merriweather death I would think that someone that short themselves in the belly and then the head with a musket would not have enough time to reload unless there we're two to begin with.
Also, History Channel had a special on the Knights Templar that explained the reasons why they ended up in Scotland which seems to be the connection to where you begin discussing why they came from there to American earlier than Chris C and more about the hook X. I'm saying their History has them end up there in Scotland because that King was booted by the Pope.

  32. I agree the claim that Lewis shot himself in the stomach and then in the head after reloading his gun doesn't make any logical sense. It sounds like a cover-up story to me.

With regard to the Templars escaping to Scotland (in additiona to Portugal and Denmark) and then making their way to the sanctuary in the Americas is all but certain. They had already been coming to the Americas since the early 12th Century. Keep watching the show; you just might see more about this topic in Season 3. ;-)

I am aware of the Lost colony at Popham Beach who apparently built two long houses within the remains of previous dwellings from an earlier attempted settlement two centuries earlier. Archaeologists tested the floorboards that dated back to circa 1400 A.D.

Coincidentally, or not, the three Spirit Pond Rune Stones were found about a quarter of mile away that date to 1401 and 1402.

  52. Scott,
I've been doing A LOT of research lately concerning ancient Sumer, its people, their culture, beliefs, gods, etc. I've come across so many points of interest that it's mind boggling! One of the most interesting points is that many of their texts reference older texts from which the author sourced their information five to six thousand years ago. They describe them as being "ancient" texts, often inscribed in stone. If someone six thousand years ago is describing a text they are reading as being "ancient" in their time, then just how old is the text that they are reading?! According to mainstream accademia modern civilization is only six thousand years old. I personally don't subscribe to that particular notion. I believe civilization is FAR OLDER than that. What is your opinion? Do you think they are correct in saying modern civilization is only about six thousand years old, or do you think we go back much further? I find it hard to believe that hunter gatherers whose top priority was keeping food in their bellies would have taken the time to quarry, design, carve, and erect a place like Gobekli Tepe, which is located in modern day Turkey. A group of people who were supposedly spending the majority of their time trying to simply survive day to day life wouldn't have taken the time to build a huge megalithic site that served no purpose concerning their ability to survive. Gobekli Tepe MUST HAVE BEEN BUILT by a high functioning society with a very deep, rich culture and well developed knowledge of cultural arts. And Gobekli Tepe is twelve thousand years old! Yet so-called "scholars" say we were still cavemen with no ability to undertake such a daunting task. Another thing I'm curious to get your opinion on is why, when the ancient Sumerians gave us so many of modern civilization's firsts and were obviously highly intelligent, are most scholars so quick to throw one piece of information into the "fantasy/mythology" column just because they can't believe it having taken place in ancient times, yet accept other information as fact just because it seems reasonable for the time? That doesn't seem like a very reliable way to determine the most accurate picture of life in ancient Sumer, or any other place and/or time. You can't just pick and choose what you do and don't want to believe about history. I don't WANT to believe that a person could slaughter people by the thousands or millions, but none the less, it has happened many times over, from ancient times all the way up to modern times. Why do you think this has come to be the method employed by so many "respected scholars?" And how could it be done differently to paint a more accurate picture of cultures based solely on archeological evidence? Would you credit this problem to a flawed system, ignorance, or intentional disinformation? There is so much that I would love to discuss with you that it would probably take days and days, even if we were face to face, so I'm just going to cut this short for now. I look forward to hearing back from you and am patiently awaiting season three of America Unearthed. Thank you for your time and thank you for revealing a little more of the truth to a misinformed world!

    Sincerely,
    Chris Sifford

    1. Chris,

Your logic is hard to argue with. I think the problem with academics is a combination of what I call "problems of the human condition" and a deliberate attempt to cover up certain historical truths.

As long as the network will let me; I will continue to try to bring the truth.

  54. I'm not sure that any country that put down a land claim in pre-Columbian times would have much success in exercising it today. I think the reticence goes back the Manifest Destiny mentality that is still pervasive today. The Smithsonian let the Bat Creek Stone get away from them and once they drew their line in the sand that it was a fake, the institution doesn't have people with enough integrity to acknowledge the obvious. Egos, protecting turf, flawed logic and review process, and improper use of scientific method are some of the other things that have held many scholars back.

It's a complicated problem, but I think we can correct it if enough people speak out and demand the truth.

  55. Hey Scott.. Just to let you know I love your show and what you are doing but you make me so mad at times.. Let me explain why.. You did a show on underwater pyramid's but all you did in the show is ride a sub nothing came of it...then the show about artifacts in a cave at the Grand Canyon but all you did there was flying a helicopter nothing came of it...you have some other shows like that to... I feel if your going to do shows like the ones you are doing for all us people you should have some equipment like rock climbing equipment and stuff like that..it's like you go to investigate these things and go unprepared..I love what you are doing and we need people like you to find us the Truth about our history.. Thank you and thank you to your family for putting up with us and the work you do i know at times it must be very had on them and you...please go find more forgotten unknown and lost history...oh get some equipment so you don't get stuck not finding anything ok...I hope season 3 will be a blast...from the past...lol...:-) one lat thing... Could you make a map of places and information on the things found so far... You see i already knew some of the things you uncovered through ancient lore and stories by the native Indians but really never really new i just had fath... Please do a map....God bless... Even if you don't read the bible or do the Jesus stuff or even if you have and do...Keep up the great work.....

    1. Tim,

I understand your frustration about us not getting to go all the way in our investigations; I get frustrated too. A drone in the Grand Canyon is good idea, but in practice it would take a pretty big drone to handle the winds and the distance. Climbing is extremely dangerous from the top as you saw in the show. I think the best way to find the cave would be to raft down and climb up. That would take over a week to accomplish, but maybe in a future episode?

The Rock Lake thing is a likely a dry hole. I didn't see anything made man underwater and don't think I would see anything if I spent a month down there IMHO.

In theory these investigations seem relatively straight forward. However, in practice it's much harder than you realize. In any case, I'll keep trying as you'll see in Season 3 which might be the best season of shows yet.

The map is on every show, the details are in my books you check out on Amazon or my website: www.hookedx.com

Thanks for sending me a note Tim.

  56. Hi Scott, my wife is a huge fan of your show and was excited when I told her about the upcoming season 3. I enjoy it as well. I have to agree with the previous commenter and feel that the show has that tease factor like Finding Bigfoot. You explore the subjects then move on. I assume that's part of the TV trend and approach to getting the show renewed? Personally, I would like to see the number of subjects you focus on remain small and that you keep revisiting them, expanding on the facts and exploring each more in depth. Either way, keep up the great work and look forward to the new episodes!

    1. Scott/Kathy,

First, I'm glad you enjoy the show and think you'll like the upcoming season. I think it might be our best yet. Second, I agree we don't go to the lengths we could (and have gone to in real life with some of our investigations), but as you said, it's only an one-long show and is part of a new trend as evidenced by Giorgio's new show, "In Search of Aliens." However, we are looking at revisiting a few subjects that warrant it in future shows and the season-ender this year is a two-part episode.

Sorry I can't say more about it, but I think you'll agree it's a good one when you see it. Thanks for talking the time to write me and sharing your thoughts.

  59. Hi Scott,

My name is Kevin, and I'm a big fan, keep it up! Any possibility that you will be investigating the various theories about the Oak Island "money pit?" Given the complexity of the design and efforts to conceal it, some folks think it was built by Templars to conceal religious artifacts.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Kevin,

I've been to the "Money Pit" on Oak Island a couple of times and while I do believe the Templars were there and hid something at one time, I am skeptical anything is still there now.

I hope to revisit this subject matter in a future episode if we get renewed. Stay tuned!

  61. Hiya, Scott,
Love your show! One or two episodes have been a bit thin, but that's true of any series. On balance, your series is as good and informative as anything on TV.

I'm so glad to hear season 3 is on the way! The academics can wallow in denial, but you bring us fact-based history : contrary to the accepted revisionist myths. Thank you for that!

Re: the Money Pit: My personal belief is that it is a Templar site, & that at one time it was the hiding place of either the Ark of the Covenant or "The Holy Grail," whatever that may be. (Certainly not a cup; more likely evidence of Christ's bloodline.)

I'd love to see you investigate the evidence of that- could it have been there; where might it be now?

    Keep up the good work!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Thanks Dan; I've been to Oak Island and I have a good idea of what's going on there. I'm more interested in looking inland in the Great Lakes area. That's where the hidden history is.

Enjoy the new season; might be our best yet!

  63. I think that everyone needs to understand that things are not always the truth but are the lies and things that are les are really the truth.as and explorer and investigator.I have seen things that are not told in the history books and other subjects books.the point is that what I like to see is before people jump in to something that is easy to identified is what they claim is out of this world.Yes the Europeans were here before native americans and after the aztec people and the first year 01 cent.now I know that it can be frustrating to go to some places and not enter with out clearance but you know Scott for me I have clearance to a lot of these things and know where there at but sometime people forget to know that this earth is full of unknown things.keep up with the hard work you do and remember don't take a book or Internet or tv too serious because that only put the stop at the door.

  64. Hi Scott, love the show ! What's your opinion on Burrows Cave ? I know you had the show on Kincaids Cave in The Grand Canyon. Any legitimacy to the artifacts found ? The place names in Southern Illinois such as Cairo and Little Egypt ? I am very intrigued about the story as well as the one about Kincaids Cave. As a former NPS employee I am well aware of things being kept from the American public. National Park Services "own little secrets". Would like to hear your opinion and maybe a show on Burrows Cave sometime in the future. Again great show and hope its on for a long time and bravo for standing up to these naysayers that like to dis you online! This guy Jason Calovito seems " really special". As much as he aggravates me can't imagine how he must make your blood boil ! Thanks Scott and all the best for you. John Baker

  65. John,

We did a show last season (2) where I looked into Burrows Cave; you need to see that episode. Some artifacts may be legitimate, but some definitely are not.

I don't read what "debunkers" write because they are not serious people in the discussion. They have their own agenda and it certainly isn't the truth. If anyone has a serious question, concern, or complaint, they are welcome to address them to me right here.

Thanks for passing along your comments. Would be interested to hear about the Park Service "secrets."

  66. Scott! I can't stop watching your show....your work is great. Have so many questions I want to ask...you should do a contest and let someone come on location to a filming of an episode -jared

  67. Having guests on the show is exactly what you'll see in the new season of shows. In fact, we've already had people on the show who offered helpful tips and when put on the spot by me with a camera in their face did a great job each time.

Glad you're enjoying the show and get ready for some really good stuff starting November 8th.

  68. With all appropriate respect, have you actually ever found anything? The last show on the pirates was based on a well known hoax yet portrayed as real. Too much acting and way too little facting.

  69. hey scott,
my name is tracey-michelle and i'm a big fan of your show. i love histroy espcially hidden history. it bugs the hell out of me how people in power can think that they can control their people and contry by controlling what they know and don't know. its just not right. so keep up with your great work and bring to light that which is lost or hidden from us.

i don't know if would help you but the other day i was watching a documentry done by olly steads. he's done a series of documenteries but the i think the first episode might interest you the most. he looks at the possibilly of the ark of the covenent making its way down to ethiopia. i hope this helps you on your quest to find the true.

i hope you are able to do many more seasons.

thank you for all your hard work.

  70. Dear Scott..Ark of the covenant..Where ? Check bible, Revelation 11:19..Its in heaven, not on earth. Jim

  71. Jim,

I respectfully disagree. I think it's here on earth, but that's OK. Until it is found it's an open question.

  73. Katherine,

America Unearthed is on hold as H2 was sold to Vice; it's not canceled though.

I will be making an announcement soon about a new show I appear in on History Channel. I should know something very soon and I think for those who enjoy America Unearthed, they will enjoy this show just as much if not more.

    Stay tuned!

  76. why would a French explorer remove a land claim stone and transport it back to france? it would have been destroyed. stick to what we know and quit speculating

    ReplyDelete
  77. Anonymous,

The reasons could be many. The fact is this story is what Per Kalm wrote down and to try and usurp a previous land claim makes plenty of sense. Until we know for sure which isn't likely to happen, speculating in this case is all we have.

  78. Hi Scott, I'm Derek from Scotland love your show! Hoping there will be a 4th series and interested to hear what your other show will be... any chance you might do some investigations I'm Scotland? There may be a lot more to find out about Roswell chapel...

  83. Scott there is a Mystery grave in Van Buern Arkansas you might would like to check out, the guy who had been buried there once traveled with Spanish explorers until his death what is strange though is the Masonic symbol on the grave it is like the mystery gave at Pioneer cemetery in Fort Gaines Georgia they are similar the address to the mystery grave in Arkansas is Van Buren Arkansas just off HWY 59 North of Downtown the name of the Cemetery is Fairview the guy was an explorer in 1542

    1. Masonic symbol on his grave marker and he traveled with the Spanish? That's well before Freemasonry officially started in 1717? The truth is the Craft has existed for thousands of years and this fellow was very likely a member of a secret Masonic order in his day.

Any chance you could send a photo?
