As you might imagine, we get a lot of emails from fans of America Unearthed on The History Channel's H2. I keep many of these. They keep me going when the looking gets difficult.
To fans of America Unearthed, Thanks!! And keep the comments coming.
[Last names removed to protect privacy, I applied color to emphasize some text]Hi Scott Wolter,
I am a big fan of your America Unearthed TV programs on H2. I don't agree with everything I see and hear, but I do enjoy the controversial topics. I especially enjoy the manner in which you present the info. I don't feel that you are "preechy" or suggest that your interpretations and theories are the only right ones. You present the information, along with your expert opinion, and the opinions of other experts, which moves me to think and explore these theories in greater depth. You raise many valid points and your explanations are every bit as likely as some of those who do not agree with you. Thank you very much for the interesting and stimulating spin you put on these issues.
Thanks very much.
Jon
Hi,
Thank you for the information. I would like to pass along to Scott and everyone at Committee Films my deepest thanks. Spending the day filming at Petrified Forest National Park was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Best wishes to you all!
Thank you very much!
Jim
Mr. Scott Wolter -
This is just a note to thank you for your rather heroic intellectual courage. I am a physician who lives in […] MN and have read "the Hooked X", watched your shows on H channel, and have read the blogs. It just seemed important to point out that you have many who appreciate your efforts and are a "silent majority" not on any radar screen.
Thanks again,
Noel […] M.D.
To Scott Wolter of America Unearthed,
My name is Michelle and I'm following your show on H2 like a hawk. Growing up my dad taught me to question everything and to always seek the Truth. Your motives and approach are inspirational to me.
I wonder all the time what I could do to help you in your search.
Thanks for all you do and I wish you all the best.
Michelle
Hi Scott,
After watching – and enjoying – America Unearthed, I did a little web surfing to learn more about you and your background. I was surprised to find so much bad press and opinions. You impressed me as a regular sort of guy who is not too impressed with puffing himself up. Other folks sure must see you differently. Or, perhaps, they just don’t like your subject matters. Sort of like a lawyer discrediting a witness because he did something 30 years ago – that has no relevance to his testimony. Anyway, forget about people like that.
I work in an engineering office and need to deal with PG’s on a regular basis. Mining permits, Proctor tests, and the like. Great, down-to- earth people (no pun intended). I was sorry to read of the tragic circumstances surrounding the loss of your father. I lost my Dad 25 years ago, and still think of and miss him every day. You never get over it, really. But I’m sure that your Dad would be proud of you and your accomplishments.
[…]
I greatly enjoy America Unearthed and appreciate your contributions to the geology field. The ancient peopling of the Americas and pre-Columbian visits have always been of great interest to me, and your shows stir renewed interest. I understand that your shows present subjects in a dramatic format, but, hey, that’s why they’re called “shows“. If it was all dry as dirt (again, no pun intended), no one would watch them. Keep it up, and to Hell with Covalito and the like.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
George
Hi Scott,
I'm a big fan of America Unearthed. I realized something curious when I googled your name. A guy named Colovito comes up. He goes on to bash you and I saw you posted there too. I applaud you for sticking up for yourself. […] You have made enemies and that is a good thing. The questions you ask are enlightening. You must be doing something right because archaeologists are slinging mud at you. They don't even think you should be doing the things you are doing and want you to stick to geology. Geology has a place in archaeology. Please keep doing the things that you are doing. The show is great. I hope you discredit all of the pompous academics who are bashing you.
Regards,
Nikin
Scott Wolter,
Hi ..my name is justin […] and I live in Appleton, Wisconsin. I just wanted to leave a quick message to say thank you. Long story short, about 18 months ago I was awarded full custody of my then 8 yr old daughter, we've always been close but when she came to live with me, there was a period of time when things were... a little tense. This is where you come in.... [She] is an avid explorer of many things, one of the more prevalent....is rocks! She also loves history, and situations that involve following clues and solving problems. Having the truth be known and not hiding stuff to "fit the mold" are all qualities that my little girl holds most dear... She's way beyond her years in some ways... Anyway, I too find all these things to be captivating.... We discovered your show, and immediately we had something to be level on... the work you do and the way you do it.... We think its cool!! Over the last year we have gotten super close and things couldn't be better... We still watch your show, read your books as well as others, and discuss everything together... Its really cool... So again, thank you Scott.... Indirectly, you have helped a father and daughter get through some pretty rough times, and become closer.
Best wishes,
Justin […]
Just watched the Viking episode and first thing lived the episode, like I have status before to you and to anyone that will listen you follow the facts the science but I do have a question. Why do you think the people and or our government refuse to acknowledge the changes to our history why is the truth so scary to them?
ReplyDeleteBTW. I hope you do a follow up on the grand canyon episode.
One of the reasons I think there is reticence to reveal the truth about the history of this continent is it would upset an awful lot of people from a religious standpoint. I suspect it would also be a very expensive proposition to re-write history, to say nothing about factions in our government having to admit to deliberate deception in some cases. They simply don't want to go there.
ReplyDeleteHi Scott, great presentations, on the Stone of Destiny, it is hidden in plain sight, like
ReplyDeletethe so called "lost tribes of Isreal" The stone has been used for thousands of years
as a coronation stone of Great Britain. It rests under the Coronation Chair built to hold
the stone.
see 2Kings 11:12-14 1Samuel 10:24 Gen 18:18-22, spcl note the peoples shout of
"God Save the King" or Queen, which the British continue.
Best Wishes, Larry
Larry,
ReplyDeleteYou are right about the British Stone of Destiny that I believe has recently been returned to Scotland. My understanding is there are two stones of destiny that I myself get confused about. Obviously, we investigated the tale/trail of the other stone.
Reading your book, Akhenaten to the Founding Fathers you said oil was discovered first near Oil City, PA. Growing up in western New York I was taught that oil was discovered at Oil Springs Indian Reservation near Cuba, New York in 1627 by a Franciscan Missionary.
ReplyDeleteThank You,
Charlie
Hi Charlie,
ReplyDeleteYou appear to be right about that being the first discovery of oil in North America. However, the oil wells were installed for commercial purposes were in Oil City, Pennsylvania. I'll have to correct that in a future printing of the book; thanks.
I refer you to "Mysteries of the Masons" another H2 presentation 2006 Titled "America"
ReplyDeleteIn this episode, there is a correct translation of the phrase written on the base of the pyramid, on our currency, reading A "New World Order". As it turns out the designer was not a free mason,
I have heard this phrase in other early writings of our country.
Am wondering if this "New World Order" is original to America or perhaps used by other countries as well.
As it turns out there is also an astro archeological reference to Venus and the constellation of Virgo.
Interesting for me to note that my maternal Grandfather told my, now 90 year old Mother that the Vikings discovered America long before Columbus, when she was a small child. We are in part descended from Northern Ireland and Scotland.
We have "Greatly" enjoyed your series, although only a recent discovery, and look forward to many more of the same.
My regards, Joyce Mathia
Joyce,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're enjoying the show and that some of the episodes have struck a personal cord. I'm pretty sure you'll see more in future shows you like including tonight where you'll probably see something about Venus and the Goddess.
Scott,
ReplyDeleteFirst off, Love the show, secondly...your recent episode about meriwether lewis' death....
I have an old family story you should hear. It concerns the Grinder Stead and its owners...my family
Richard,
DeleteIt occurred to me that you wouldn't have my personal email address, so you can reply here and I simply won't post any sensitive material on the blog. Be sure to include your email address.
Richard,
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear your story; maybe it's best to send me an email.
Scott: Would you be interest in the whereabouts of a few randomly located boulders with one-half inch holes drilled in them for no apparent reasons? bob10063@aol.com
ReplyDeleteSure; I'll send you an email.
ReplyDeleteAre you familiar with the Washitaw Nation or Washitaw de Dugdahmoundyah of poverty point Louisianna. They are a group of Black Indians who were here for thousands of years before columbus (or before African enslavement) I know they have spoken at the UN and have some interesting connections to the Olmec and the Dogon of Mali! I was curios to see what great adventure you would have exploring their history! What a show you have full of interesting points and discussions! James Greenwald UK
ReplyDeleteJames,
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to do something at Poverty Point, and the Black Indians is a very interesting topic, especially a possible connection to the Olmec's? Good stuff and thanks for the suggestions!
Scott, I previously worked at Poverty Point in 2006. I am originally from that area. I loved my job there. The people are wonderful and will welcome you with open arms. I still live about an hour away from there. There is another set of Mounds near West Monroe, LA (where I currently live) called Watson Break. If I'm not mistaken, it was proven that Watson Break is older than Poverty Point. If you do come to this area I wish you a safe trip and enjoy your travels!

Hi Scott great show
ReplyDeleteIf your ever in Florida you need to check out
Coral castle in homestead and your thoughts in how
It was built by a single person
We've recieved many tips about the coral castle in Florida; not sure if we'll look at that or not at this point.
ReplyDeleteI guess we'll see?
Scott, love the show I've been hooked since holy grail in america. No way Olaf faked the engravings, I don't think hoaxes were a big part of 19th century life.
ReplyDeleteActually, there were many fakes perpetrated it the 19th century like the Cardiff Giant and others. However, many academics are quick to try to associate authentic historical artifacts they can't explain, like the KRS, as hoaxes claiming, "Everybody did this back then."
ReplyDeleteThe fact is the top Scandinavian scholars in the world at that time couldn’t have carved the Kensington inscription, so how could Olof Ohman? If people really understood the complexity of the inscription and the 14th century is the only time it could have been carved they'd realize it's a ridiculous claim to make.
We were taught in school that Vikings came to America prior to Columbus. Why do you act like this some hidden truth?
ReplyDeleteWe were taught in school that Vikings visited America 100s of years before Columbus. Why donyoubact like this is something new and covered up?
ReplyDeleteJane,
ReplyDeleteYou're probably a lot younger than me, but I never heard it in school. However, the point we are trying to make is there were many other cultures who came to North America that we weren't told about, such as the Irish, early Welsh, Hebrews, Polynesians, Knights Templar, etc.
The point about the Vikings is it's pretty obvious they made it much farther south than the northern tip of Newfoundland. I believe much of this information was covered up for religious and political reasons; the Bat Creek Stone is one of the best examples.
Scott I just watched the episode about the Egyptian Treasure caves in Illinois. I live in Missouri and I need to talk to you about those caves and something I noticed in the show. I would rather not say it here. Please call me when you have time.

Denise,
DeleteIf you write back with something confidential I will not post it. I make it a rule to post all comments unedited, but this is one of the exceptions.
I live in the Arkansas River Valley, right between the two national forest ! When I was a kid I heard stories of Spanish treasure that was buried in Oauchtia national forest. About 15 years ago I was taken by a really hard place to get to called the Spanish writings it could b nothing but it could be something to, it was really cool to see those writings carved into the rocks, the carvings may not be Spanish at all, I wish I would have took a picture! I don't no why but I have felt for awhile now this should b investigated! I wish to stay anonymous but if someone with more knowledge of this could investigate it or get the message to America unearthed maybe we could learn more about it! Its in the Oauchtia national forest, sorgum holler road, you can find it on a map of Arkansas or the Qauchtia forest maps! Any local resident in that area can give information or maybe take someone there to investigate!! I was told when I went there that local residents have managed to take heavy equipment to the site and dug for the supposed treasure, long before I went to see it!!! Its hard to get to on foot or 4 wheeler much less take heavy equipment there. I don't know about treasure buried there but the carvings were put there by someone for some reason, and I have always wondered why???? This probably wont do any good but its my attempt to get someone to investigate and maybe find some answers!! thank you
ReplyDeleteWell, by posting the info here someone may take interest. It does sound interesting.
ReplyDeleteI was on holiday and saw your resonse to my message about the Washitaw! My interest has gotten deeper as there is a story connecting the Washitaw to the royal family of France. According to the story, It seems the Washitaw had a chieftess which married Louis-Charles, Dauphin of France (who it seems was secretly taken away to the French colonly of Louisiana during the Revolution.) During a vist to Paris, I have come across few French historians have stated there is evidence that the Dauphin survived, and was taken to America to the colony of Louisianna during one of the successful escapes planned before King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette had taken refuge at the Legislative Assembly before interrogation and imprisoned in the tower of the Temple in the Marais.?? One historrian told me his physical description by his jailers differs about the young boy and his imprisonment. There is also Something also about Napolean writing about money in a trust due to the Dauphin and his Chieftess/ or Empress Anna of the Washitaw over lands in the Americas or Louisianna terrtory? The interesting thing is some of the court of Marie Antoinette seem to be recorded in early 1800 in New Orleans??? If the Dauphin truly did marry a Washitaw Cheiftess, threre would be a claimant to the throne and could cause quite a controversy. This is info I have only come upon recently in a few links and a few books this side of the pond, but I thought this story was something of looking into. Many thanks for your show and its info! James UK
ReplyDeleteJames,
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting story and could connect with a different story I've been researching around this time that also involves New Orleans. Thanks for the tip and let's see what happens. This could be good!
I just finished watching the program "Swamp Mammoth" and I am wondering why there must be a "first people to come to North America." About 5 years ago I was watching a special put together by National Geographic and a number of other archeology/geology/paleontology experts where the theory that was being developed was that the migration from EurAsia over the land bridge and the migration from western Europe along the edge of the glaciers may have happened simultaneously. Once both sides of the continent were "discovered" the peoples continued further into the interior from both areas and eventually ran into each other, possibly along the Mississippi (ancestors of the Cahokians maybe?). I found that fascinating and quite believeable as a way this continent was populated. There is also the theory that the Southwest was actually populated by the ancestors of the Incas with a migration coming north from South America. The point I started to make was that this was 5 or more years ago when this theory was first proposed and I just find it interesting that you are just now considering it. I do enjoy the program wish I could visit some of the areas out here where I live in Arizona that you have visited already. Keep the questions coming!
ReplyDeleteKathy,
DeleteI agree our show wasn’t “breaking news” to some, but many in our audience were not aware of the Clovis-Solutrean debate. You could very well be right they were simultaneous; I don’t think we know for certain yet.
I’m sure there will be much more news on this front in the future.
Scott,
ReplyDeleteFirst off I'm a huge fan of the show and have been following your work since the KRS keep up the good work! I live in Knoxville and was just about to visit the mcclung museum to see the bat creek stone but caught your blog about it being moved (darn!) Anyway...my question pertains to the recent discovery on the curse of oak island show where in the final episode they found a 17th century spanish coin in the swamp. The show made this discovery out to be greatly significant indicating the oak island treasure is probably spanish pirate based....do you believe the coin discovery to be significant or just dramatized for tv? Does this relate to your work and theory of the hooked x, or alter your view of the templars coming to oak island? Thanks Scott keep blasting these so called academic "historians"!!
David,
DeleteThe brothers have given a good effort on Oak Island so far and I really do hope they find something meaningful. I’d be the first to shake their hands and congratulate them. The coin is interesting, but all it tells us is a 17th century Spanish ship may have been in the area which is hardly surprising. The coin could also have been lost there recently. We don’t know.
However, I believe the Templars were also there and they weren’t stupid. Whatever was there in the past was moved inland long ago. However, I would love to be proven wrong!
Don’t worry; the academics hostile to my work only inspire me with their criticism. They know we’re making major progress and are pissed off we have exposed their improper methodology and other mistakes in the handling of these important historical artifacts. I use the term “we” because I’m certainly not doing this all by myself. Many competent amateur researchers and open-minded scholars have contributed much to the topics we present on the show. While I may be the face right now, there is an army of hard-working and determined people supporting us with their research.
Hi Scott:
DeleteI've been a fan of your work since Holy Grail in America. I loved that show. I've read all three of your books, and I never miss an episode of America Unearthed.
I am completely on board with the idea that the Templars came to America long before Columbus.
My question for you is...."What do we do now?"
If the secret the Templars guarded has anything to do with the true way Jesus should be worshiped, or that the Sinclair family, true descendants of Jesus and God, has a rightful claim to North America then let's take some action now! There are Christians all over the world who may be worshiping the wrong way. I think you should be more direct with the ultimate message the Templars guarded. Put the truth out there and let Christians decide how to proceed.
Keep up the good work!
Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteRest assured you will hear more about this topic in coming episodes. However, even if the story we were told about Jesus and his family was wrong. I don't think you just barge ahead without trying to be respecful of other's feelings and beliefs. I agree the truth needs to come out, but not without tactful treatment of the subject matter.
I certainly don't want to offend anyone and sometimes the best way to avoid that is to do share information slowly and respectfully.
Scott, I'm a big fan of the show and find it very interesting and I believe you are on the right track on a lot of things. But, as a FREEMASON , I would like to ask you to please get things straight about us. You used the term High Ranking Freemason a time or two and there is no such thing. Do you want to report FACTS or just put more fuel on the rubbish that has plagued Freemasonry for centuries?
ReplyDeleteC.W.
ReplyDeleteI most certainly do not want to further any nonsense about Freemasonry I can assure you. I also understand you are all equal, but if so, why are there titles like Most Worshipful Master and Supreme Grand Master, etc.? Do these titles not indicate a difference in rank even though they are temporary?
Separately, maybe I need to use a different way of describing certain Freemasons who are more knowledgeable than other Brothers about certain subject matter?
Any input is appreciated.
I have only recently began watching this show and have only seen about 3 episodes. I generally enjoy this kind of programming, but I also sit with computer on my lap, doing research of things that I hear on the show, as I watch, for additional information and learning. During a recent showing of the Roanoke Island colony episode, I was curious about the Dare stones that were found in the late 1930's. Of interest in my own research, the "discovery" of these stones coincided with the celebrations of the time of the 400th birthday of Virginia Dare and the 400th anniversary of the Roanoke colony itself. I think this fact was seriously over looked by the America Unearthed program and is a significant piece of information to be researched in determining the validity of the Dare stones.
ReplyDeleteWhat relevance does the date have? It's interesting, but can't be used as evidence against the stones. They need to be investigated on their own merit, not by association with an anniversary. The weathering of the inscriptions is hard factual evidence that needs to be further investigated, not an anniversary date.
DeleteHello Scott, I have been having an interesting discussion with a gentleman on a "Linked In" group called "Friends of Native America." Part of our discussion has been who were the "first" people to arrive on the North American continent. He totally disagrees with both the theory of the crossing of the Bering Strait "land bridge" during the last glacial period and the idea that ancient western Europeans may have arrived ont he east coast via boats being blown off course while seal hunting. His theory is that the only people that may have come across the Atlantic were the old Norse. He extrapolates that the Lenape tribes (most of which were situated along the east coast and southeastern Pennsylvania) were actually the product of what he calls the "Haplo A" woman and Norse settlers and bases this theory on the finding that linguistically the Lenape language is similar to Old Norse. I believe he may be part American Indian but cannot be sure. Have you ever come across this theory? And have you ever had a chance to speak with some of the American Indian cultures to find out what they think of the theories of who the first peoples were to come to North America and how they got here? Thank you
ReplyDeleteOne of ex ore landperience with Hebrew tribes of Judah they were black not the ones you see yes we did leave Judah in and came to the United States all 10 tribes are here we the lost tribes of Judah but as yahweh told us to leave that place because the Persians Had took our land some be came salves others be came master of salve we are here in the United States the one there in our old land is not the people from the Bible of yeshua we lead faith in and in this new land we been in land for 2,000 years lot the poor people in this land we the people in the bible in all the world of difference but steel the same story we are Hebrew look again at the we the first people who left the Ark .
ReplyDeleteMr. Wolter:
ReplyDeleteThe show is awesome and highly educational. I hope the History channel keeps it going for a few more years. We need the education.
In the opening of the show you state that "American History" as we were taught is wrong. No it s not wrong. What is wrong, is the title. The course should be called, History of the United States". Then all fits in perfectly.
St Augustine Fl, was already a thriving when the British tried to establish Jamestown Va.
Yet, the American History courses never once discuss this fact.
I love the show and I learn something new on each show and I am 60+ years old!
Thank you sir.
Funny you should mention St. Augustine; I was just there on a vacation and we greatly impressed with it's rich history. Maybe worthy of an episode to find out more about what went on there?
DeleteI found this comment in Yahoo concerning a coin found in British Columbia: "There is a show on history 2 called America Unearthed .I think the gentleman who host the show is Scot Wolter. He travels the country and investigates artifacts , old arch illogical sites , early civilizations uncovering many untruths being told in our history . This artifact found does not surprise me in the least. Many European bones have been unearthed around the continent which proves a migration from Europe thousands of years before European Explorers were thought to arrive here. Spanish Explorers wrote of discovering Natives who were white and spoke a Welsh dialect. Bones of early Natives having DNA of Europeans being found in Florida that pre-date many civilizations of early America. The problem is the industry of entitlement and reservations , untaxed casinos , the slandering of European explorers thrives on history being told the way it is.The White Man took everything. DNA does not lie. We know Native Americans derive from Asia .They as we'll came here competing with other groups of peoples and taking as we'll. the stronger the group the more group took. I have no shame in what took place early in this lands history. And Mother Nature has a way of ridding itself of civilizations that were less civilized. Especially the many cultures that sacrificed children to their gods , raped and pillaged for a millennia or more than cried foul when they met up against a more civilized foe." These are the kinds of people you inspire, Scott and the reason some of us Natives have issues with you. I can't imagine you aren't aware of this.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous Native,
ReplyDeleteI respectfully disagree with your idea that our show inspires the people who ripped off the Natives. In fact, that is the opposite of what we are trying to do. We are trying to give Native's a voice in these discussions about people who came to this continent for millennia. My only agenda is the truth and I'm doing the best I can to get it. For me, it is obvious that if you want to know the history of any place in North America (or anywhere in the world for that matter) start by asking the local Natives.
We certainly aren't doing everything perfect, but trying to do the best we can to get it right.
Hi Scott....I'm Native...i respect all you are doing.
DeleteI really enjoyed your research on the Bat Creek Stone.
I am Shawnee/Cherokee...my family was a part of some mound history. Check Boyds Mounds in Mississippi and the mounds of Boyd County, Kentucky....did you make the connection? My gggreat grandfather was thee Boyd...I know the story...email me...desertrose9495@gmail.com
Scott, I want to thank you personally for presenting information in a professional and in a common sense manner. I have watched most of your episodes and enjoy each and every one of them. Keep up the good work Scott.
ReplyDeleteMichael,
ReplyDeleteGlad you like the show and as long as the network allows me to, I will absolutely keep at it. Even after the show runs its course, which hopefully won't be for a while yet, it won't be the end of the research for me!
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteScott, Have you ever explored the Giant City State Park area south of Carbondale, IL? I was told the stone walls were straight due to water, but they look more deliberate than that. Is this a common phenomenon? Love your program.
ReplyDeleteKathy,
DeleteI have not explored or studied those walls, but now that you've mentioned it I just might have to!
Hello Scott,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Gabriel and I follow the Italian version of your program FOCUS. I am writing in reference to your research on the history of pre-Columbian America. 5 years ago I was living in my beautiful city of L'Aquila, but because of the earthquake unfortunately I had to relocate.
L'Aquila was founded in 1254 by Frederick II of Swabia last descendant of the Hohenstaufen, lineage closely related to the initiators of the Order of Cistercians fathers. L'Aquila is full of churches and monuments that bear clear references to the Knights Templar, but among all of them is by far one of the most beautiful, the FOUNTAIN OF 99 CANNELLE, built in 1272, recent studies show that it is a nautical chart in stone to reach the Americas! This information I have taken from the book of the researcher Luca Ceccarelli, La Rivelazione dell’Aquila. I would be very happy if you feel is interesting!
my best regards
Gabriele
WOW -- now that is a real catch and research -- is the book available in English, if I could ask. This is incredible. Right there is the middle of Italy. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks to this post, Gabriele -- looks like a lot of research here.
Gabriele,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to my blog and I'm thrilled to hear our show is reaching Italy. I can tell you that I find your information about this map to be extremely interesting and I thank you for sharing it.
That this city was founded by a person with family ties to the founders of the Cistercians is very important and frankly, not surprising. I suspect Frederick II was a "bloodliner" and connected to the Counts of Champange in France.
Now I have another book I need to buy... Thank you Gabriele.
if an English version shows up -- let me know. I may have to take out a bank loan --- lol
ReplyDeleteGabriele,
ReplyDeleteAre there copies of this book available where you are? I looked on-line and couldn't find anything. I'd be willing to purchase an Italian copy and use a translator app.
Hi Scott,
ReplyDeleteI am very happy that you find it interesting, you can find the book through this link, http://ilmiolibro.kataweb.it/schedalibro.asp?id=254994, but I do not think there is an English version. However, if you need anything let me know
thanks
Gabriele
Mr. Wolter, you sir, by far have the most entertaining and educational show on TV.
ReplyDeleteA couple of things of interest to you.
A man in Michigan is rebuilding stonehenge stone by stone using neither wheel nor pulley. His video on youtube shows how he does it by himself. Search for "Stonehenge reloaded".
Also, as you dislike "American History" books being titled as such, so do I.
They should be titled, "United States History". Because as we all know, Spain and Mexico already had strong footholds in the country long before the Pilgrims arrived.
Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteI've heard of the guy building a modern Stonehenge, but haven't seen the video, and you are quite right about how we are solely focused on only certain aspects of American history and otheraspect are not so much...
The truth is the more we dial on the "accepted" history, let alone the forbidden stuff, the more we learn the official version is BS too!
Anyway, so much to learn and so little time. Glad you're enjoying the show.
Scott,
ReplyDeleteYou have found the book in the link I sent you? if not, I can send you a copy ok?
Should have posted the link.

Hey Scott. I know what you need for that Grand Canyon Egyptian cave.
ReplyDeleteA boat and a drone!
Launch the drone from the river bank and let the camera spot the cave.
Once you know where it is, climb UP to it. Rather than repelling.
You really need to invest in a drone with camera. Easy to fly.
Many people have suggested using a drone and it's a great idea. The issues are range, location and permissions. I think it would be best to raft down to the suspected location and have the drone go up and find the cave entrance. I've proposed this to the network so we'll see what happens.
DeleteScott, I'd love to be there when that happens. I have a drone myself and would be willing to loan it for that purpose.
DeleteIf you have a copy in "English", I would love to know. Thank you for your interest in this forum and blog. Its people like you, Gabriele, that step up to the plate with information that is very historically relevant.
ReplyDeleteAlso. If you know of ANY OTHER RESEARCH of interest here, please post. This is just getting started.
Mr. Wolter:
ReplyDeleteWe really do love watching your show and look froward to many more. We enjoy your approach to uncover and discover truth. We know we are are not wack jobs and don't believe you to be either so consider some theological truth that comes from the LDS Religion that supports and ties in very well to some things you endeavor to prove scientifically....God has revealed the location of the Garden of Eden and it was right here in America USA in the Jackson County Missouri area....yeah, we know....many will believe us to be wack jobs for believing that....but it is the truth. Also the Jaredite Nation that came from the time of the Tower of Babel and they were in America long before Columbus around 2200-2000 BC and thrived all over the American continent for almost 2000 years. Also, later around 600 BC came two groups from Jerusalem...Lehi and his family who later became the nations of the Nephites and Lamanites (True Native Americans) and also Mulek and his group who became the Mulekites and built a great city called Zarahemla (See Book of Mormon...this is not a fictional book) The Nephites and Lamanites had a huge battle in New York State at a place called Cummorah around 420 A.D. We're sure you have probably heard these things before. Don't dismiss any of these events as fictional or wack job information because they did happen and it would be really cool if you would try to prove it.
Scott, the big question of Egyptologists has been, how was the great obelisk raised?
ReplyDeleteWell here may be one very plausible solution.
http://izismile.com/2014/04/22/dead_tree_doesnt_accept_its_fate.html
Funny you should mention obelisks; we'll be looking into them in great deal in Season 3; stay tuned!
DeleteHi Scott,
ReplyDeleteVery much enjoy the show and have been into ley lines since John Michell turned me on to Alfred Watkins, and also interested in megaliths and archaeoastronomy since reading E.C. Krupp's "Echoes of Ancient Skies" back in the 80's. I found this interesting presentation on YouTube, which appears to present good research and demonstrate critical thinking. I hope you find it to contain data and discoveries of interest to you. Love the show. Keep up the great work. Always recall, "History is written by the victors." ~ Winston Churchill https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-4sI34aIZ0
Hi... I have enjoyed your show and I have something that may be of interest to you:
ReplyDeleteIt's a axe/hatchet/tomahawk head that was kicked up by a plow circa 1949 in Clinton, N.C.. It appears to be granite and authentic. t's not a "toy" though I do recall using it as such when I was a young boy. This artifact could predate the Cherokee and could, even, predate early American settlements in the Carolinas.
The next time you are in Arizona, I'll pull it out of the safe and show it to you. My email address is cmorrissquared@gmail.com. I'm not very high tech and I don't have the required tools to photograph the artifact for viewing via the internet. But, believe me, seeing is believing. This has been a prize possession for 60+ years: now it's time to go to the Smithsonian, if its found to be authentic.
Thanks.
Chuck Morris
Quartzsite, Arizona
Chuck,
ReplyDeleteIf your artifact is pre-Columbian and not Native American, the last place you want to see it go is the Smithsonian. They would bury it in a heartbeat as they have done countless times. The Bat Creek is one that got away from them and they are still trying to figure out how to make it go away.
Hi Scott.
ReplyDeleteI have something given to me from my Grandma when I was around 12 yrs old. I'm now 44 and she passed away 5 yrs ago, but before she died I made sure I got the story straight as she had told me it many times over the yrs when I was young, as children you may remember it different.. It's a ring I have never taken it to anyone as I'm affraid it would go missing, the stone has fallen out but I have the whole setting still together. It's has a History of Royalty, that's all I would like to say. I watch your show and love it. But I would like to know how to contact you and give you my information . Best Regards Shanny
Shanny,
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome to contact me via email: swolter@amengtest.com Are you comfortable sending pictures of the ring?
Yes I can send you a picture, thank's for responding so quickly. Tommorrow I can do that for you. This is very exciting for me, it's been so many years and I cant wait to get some more information. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI and my siblings and my dad have recently begun to watch America Unearthed, and we all enjoy the fresh insight into North America's history (we're Canadian), the archaeological finds and the speculation about what might have happened in the past.
ReplyDeleteBut I would like to point out that your episode on the Freemasons and Washington DC seemed a little overdone. My dad and I agree that you made some serious leaps in logic connecting 'goddess worship' and the megolithic yard (which, by the way, sounds like the cubit, used in the Bible and in ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia and many other ancient civilizations).
Sarah,
ReplyDeleteGlad you're enjoying the show, but I'm not sure what you mean by "serious leaps?" However, your confusion about the connection between the megalithic yard and veneration of the Goddess is understandable since we weren't able to explain the full details in the show.
The megalithic yard is a quantifiable length that can be measured anywhere at any time in history. This ancient unit of measurement is based upon tracking the movement of the planet Venus over a one degree of arc (using 365 degrees in a circle verses 360 degrees we use now) of arc. This method was ingenious since it always produces the exact same unit of length whereas other ancient units of measure, such as the length of ruler's arm varies.
To most ancient cultures, the Cistercians, the Knights Templar, and modern Freemasons, Venus is symbolic of the Goddess in the heavens and the sun is her male consort since they travel eternally together. This is what we mean by Goddess Worship or Goddess veneration.
It's a fact there are many more statues and other artwork depicting female Goddesses than male Gods in Washington D.C. which was of course intentional. This includes the Goddess Persephone on top of the Capital Dome, and also includes the most iconic statue symbolic of the United States; the Statue of Liberty. If you research the origin of our country and who was behind of this you'll come up with same consistent thread: Freemasonry.
These facts are not a coincidence.
Scott, I enjoy your research on many interesting topics. Especially the Northsman missing stone that was taken from Newport R.I. and has been missing. That predated Christopher Columbus discovery of America. Just recently the Providence Journal in R.I. a few days ago I heard from a co-worker did an article on it that it has been found and stated that the town of Wickford has purchased it here in R.I. and will place it on display at the towns square for tourists to see it as an attraction. I don't know if you recieved any info on it yet,but I think you should act fast to see if that's a good idea for them to do that, since this stone has rewritten history on the dicovery of America which as you know should be preserved before it gets damaged or lost again! Contact the Providence Journal they will have all the info you need!
ReplyDeleteSincerely,
Antonion
Antonion,
ReplyDeleteI am well aware that the Narragansett Rune Stone was returned and will be permanently housed in Wickford.
http://www.providencejournal.com/breaking-news/content/20140613-north-kingstowns-mysterious-rune-stone-to-be-displayed-in-wickfords-updike-park.ece
Rhode Island law enforcement notified me a few days ago about Wickford stepping up and I'm thrilled it will have a permanent home where it will be preserved and protected for future study. This is a story that started off as a potential tragedy that turned out to be a very happy ending.
Congratulations to all who worked on this case and to the leadership in the town of Wickford!
Scott! Thanks for the God speed on this historical matter. Will you do a episode on the Narragansett Rune Stone for your expertise study and proffesional comments on this great century finding!
ReplyDeleteSincerely,
Antonion
Antonion,
ReplyDeleteBesides the Hooked X episode from Season 1, we also did a short form about the return of the Naragansett Rune Stone by the person who stole it. Check out my interview with detective Sheila Paquette at the following link: http://www.history.com/shows/america-unearthed/videos/narragansett-stone?m=5189719baf036&s=All&f=1&free=false
Thanks for the tip, but I've known about the Peterborough Petroglyphs for a long time. I'm hoping to get there for Season 4 if we get it.

Hi Scott...Love your show and what you do :) I was curious if you have ever looked into the Hebrew Alphabet? There is a website I found a while back called "The Bible Wheel" It is quite exhaustive in length and detail, and for some time I have educated myself about it. The Hebrew Alphabet is ancient writing, as there are many other types out there as well. I say that because while watching the many different shows you have : For example, the Runes gravestone in the Mustang Mountains Az, and even the Crooked X....so much of the time, those letters look almost Identical to those of the Hebrew Alphabet itself. While we have 24 letters in our alphabet; the Hebrew Alphabet has 22. Each letter not only having a numerical value, But much detail and specific scripture attached to each individual one I.E The "Aleph to The Tav" or (Alpha-omega) The Tav is the last letter and it denotes or represents a Cross...There were a few letters or symbols on the Runes gravestone in Az that look identical to it as well. So far as I know, My own Bloodline for the most part is, German/Native American, and Cherokee specifically....I live in Oklahoma and Have been to many of their festivals, seen their artwork and studied their alphabet and symbols as well.....along with the Hebrew alphabet, I have often also seen in your shows a simularity in some of the symbols in caves and what-not that you have discovered....there was a "pie-like" circular symbol in the ceiling of the cave in Az...that when I saw it, It looked like what they call and have drawn and recorded as a "Medicine wheel" The spirals also caught my immediate attention, Because at an art festival I once went to that the Cherokees had, There was a strange Shell that I had seen in other places before in a glass case, and When I asked the man in the booth what it was He told me it was extremely old and rare and that it was called an "Ammonite Shell"....I recognized the name Ammonite, because that was and is recorded in the Bible as a clan or a group of peoples. The geometry you spoke of in the spiral account in the cave resonated with me also, You said that the ancients believed in "Sacred Geometry"....Check out the Fibonacci swirls. The name Cherokee in and of itself means "Principle Peoples". There is a well known evangelist and Pastor, His name is Perry Stone. About a year ago, when my mom and I started pursuing to know more about the Cherokee culture, She came across a Video or teaching that He has I believe it is called "The Possible Link to the Cherokee Peoples".....I suppose you could call it a philosophy, But He did much research and discovered that that their customs, culture and religious festivals are almost identical in nature to the ancient Israelites of the Old Testament in the Bible. It was pretty fascinating to say the Least. Just thought I would share that info with you and see what you thought! Curious to see if any of it grabs your attention. :)
ReplyDeleteMr Wolter, I sended to you 2 emails. I'm sure of this, if you're ONLY look the pictures in these emails, you'll try to answer me immediatly. My name is Jean Morissette and was a beleiver of your theories many years before I saw your TV shows. You'll see ( I'm pretty sure it's this) the most big Hooked X you've ever seen (with details about the site). I'm waiting for your others TV shows at History and History 2. Regards, Jean Morissette
ReplyDeleteJean,
ReplyDeleteI'll take a look and let you know what I think. Thanks for sending.
Scott,
ReplyDeleteI have a very keen interest in America Unearthed and have some very interesting local finds here where I live in the Turtle Mountains of north central ND. We have mooring stones with chiseled triangular holes in them that are the same as the ones used by the Vikings in Scandinavia. More and more are being found as well a sword that is much the same as those used by the Vikings. I would certainly think this is more evidence of Viking presence in this area of the north. During the time the Vikings could have made it to this area, the entire prairie with the exception of the Turtle Mountains, was covered by hundreds of feet of the waters of Lake Souris and Lake Agassiz. I have pictures of many of the mooring stones as well as a stone 'cave' built with the Gothic arch keystone system used by Europeans long before such construction was known by any other group of people who might have frequented this area. Get in touch if you might be interested in hearing or seeing more. Thanks for the great series of America Unearthed!
Richard Johnson
Richard,
DeleteI'd love to see whatever pictures you have; especially the Gothic style stone arch. My email is swolter@amengtst.com
One thing about the "mooring stones", I prefer to call them "stone holes" because nobody can argue that's not what they are. Mooring stones imply an interpretation that in most cases is probably not correct and this serves to give skeptics the opportunity to dismiss them.
The fact is we don't know yet when they were made or what their intended purpose was. We should get in the habit of calling them "stone holes" because no one can argue that's not what they are.
Hi Scott,
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of your show and looking forward to the next season! Just wanted to say thanks for all of the investigation you do, it makes for a very informative and entertaining show.
Best,
John
John,
DeleteI appreciate the kind words; we've worked hard to put together another great season of shows. Hopefully, you'll enjoy watching it as much as I had making it.
Scott: In Bend, Oregon there is a residential area known as Tillicum Village and all the roads have Polynesian-sounding names. I find that curious. LOVE YOUR SHOW.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the Book of Mormon details some Jews fleeing Jerusalem in 600 BC coming to the Western Hemisphere. Where they landed no one really knows, but they were wiped out around 400 CE. I am curious about that.
William,
ReplyDeleteThis are both promising leads we might be looking into. I've received many notes from people suggesting we take a closer look at the Book of Mormon. That is something I would very much like to do!
Stay tuned; Season 3 begins in just a few weeks and it might be our best yet!
Hi Scott,
ReplyDeleteI have been a big fan of your show and have been watching the show for several seasons. The other day I saw an episode of the American Unearthed that discussed the Windover Bog people that was found in Titusville Florida. It reminded me of a story a friend told me. He told me this story of when he and his construction crew had to dig and build retention ponds of SR 50 a couple of miles west of HWY 95 in Titusville. As they dug the retention ponds, they unearthed ancient artifacts (spears and hunting type items). he sight was never reported. Anyways, after watching the show, I wonder if this site might have been related to the Windover site since this location is about 2 or 3 miles from the windover sight.
I have no doubt there are other sites in close proximity to the Windover Bog and in one way or another are likely connected. The site was probably not reported as the project could have been shut down with time and money lost. That's the conundrum of archaeological sites discovered during construction projects with a fixed budget and more importantly, a set schedule.
ReplyDeleteWho knows how many important discoveries were hushed up over the years for these reasons?
Thanks for the reply, I just thought I would try to provide possible information that may relate to the Windover sight. I do remember my buddy Bill saying the spear heads were long and seemed to be made of Obsidian. You don't find Obsidian in Florida.
DeleteThanks again
Jeff Cordell
The obsidian point is a very good point!
DeleteScott; I want to thankyou for taking the time to go to Rhode Island , to put your stamp of approval of authenticity on the Narraganset Rune Stone. The History Channel I have to say made the perfect choice to select you among hundreds to carry out this great show. "America Unearthed," because not only do you have the background in your field of work, and know what your talking about, but you have charisma as well, and that's what makes the show so interesting to watch!
ReplyDeleteAntonion
Antonion,
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the kind words and hope you still feel this way after watching the new episodes. It was important to take this trip with my wife and fellow researcher Jerry Lutgen. We conducted research using 3D technology on the Westford Knight/Sword site in addition to the Narragansett Rune Stone which I was finally able to examine without waves constantly breaking over it.
I think it's important to give the North Kingstown City Council members a lot of credit for voting to become the stewards for this important artifact. They are building a shelter to preserve and protect the inscription along with interpretive displays presenting the most plausible theories as to its origin until a consensus is reached at some point in the future. This should also happen with Noman's Land Island Rune Stone off the coast of Massachusetts.
I am hopeful we will have similar positive developments in the near future about this potentially history-changing treasure.
Scott: I look forward to watching all of these great discoveries your unearthing, with Jerry Lutgen! And any of your hired team of experts that you might assemble together for any of the episodes. The 3D technology you mention sounds very interesting!
ReplyDeleteAntonion
Hi there Mr. Wolter, thanks for helping with a great interesting show that actually keeps the History Channel teaching history! I had a suggestion for a couple episodes if you are able to give the producers ideas. :)
ReplyDeleteA little background about me, I am a beginning filmmaker attending Dixie State University in St. George, Utah in its budding film program under the direction of Professor Phil Tuckett (who worked with the History Channel in the past, through NFL Films). My idea for America Unearthed episodes are about the connection of the United States' first original religion ("Mormonism") to the ancient North AND South Americas. I have enough personal knowledge (& maybe connections...?) to either gather resources and point out those knowledgeable enough about the connections to make even a COUPLE of episodes for America Unearthed.
If this subject is a possibility to film, I would be more than happy to assist! =D Though if you would like me to pitch to you a better layout, just inform me as to what sort things I need to put together for you (like photos, books, existing video, etc). Maybe you could use the same pitch for you to give to your superiors to see if THEY would green-light it. Thank you for your time and reading this email. I hope you have a good night and great Sunday, as well as to hear back from you soon! :)
BoMwarrior,
ReplyDeleteGlad you're enjoying the show; Season 3 is just around the corner and it's going to be good. You're idea about an episode on the Mormon's is something I've thought about doing for a long time. Not sure we're getting a 4th season yet, but if we do I will pitch the idea again for sure.
I have many Mormon friends who have suggested I look into their history and while there are a number of fascinating historical stories in the Book of Mormon we could investigate, I also have many questions about Joseph Smith and the early days with his followers. It would be fascinating for sure and an episode that would likely generate a look of discussion.
I appreciate your offer of assistance and will mention it to the production company. If they decide to give us another season and they want to pursue a Mormon episode with a tipster, I will certainly suggest you. Thanks for taking the time to write in and let's see what happens.
Scott, are you doing any new work or research in eastern New Mexico? We found a lot of interesting finds in Oklahoma and Colorado, and may have found some in the Texas Panhandle.
ReplyDeleteAlso, here is a link to Professor Ali Shahri of Oman who came to southeast Colorado in the 1980s (apparently courtesy of Bill McGlone and others doing research there):
Deletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaoQcdsqZz8
Scott, there are some interesting things and petroglyphs along the Rio Grande near Socorro, NM and northward towards Albuquerque. Have you done any research in that area?
ReplyDeleteAnn Schroeder, Los Lunas, NM
Ann,
DeleteWe did film at the Los Lunas Hebrew inscription a few years ago for a documentary entitled, "Who Really Discovered America?" Do you have any other suggestions?
Near the "Decalogue Stone" are some other interesting petroglyph inscriptions. David Allen Deal looked into this (Discovery of Ancient America book) and also wrote a paper on it. Apparently he believes that some Hebrew people came there and established a camp on top of the mountain, leaving some inscriptions that talk about an eclipse to 107 BCD (BC). The place is next to a Pueblo pottery area, and some of the Pueblo people say that most people are "forbidden" to go to the mountain area, perhaps because of an ancient conflict with those Hebrews or perhaps they saw there was a spirituality different from the Pueblo shamanism. I and others believe that area needs more investigations. Ann
DeleteAnn,
DeleteI have seen some of these inscriptions that you reference and agree more work needs to be done by qualified "open-minded" scholars. I would like to do more work on the weathering aspects of these carvings to get a better sense of their age.
So many things to study and so little time...
Catherine,
ReplyDeleteWe have been to New Mexico, but I'm sure we've only scratched the surface. Care to share what you've found?
Along the Pergatoire River and nearby rivers, especially to the south, are rock inscriptions that match the Thalmudic writings found in Oman and Yemen. Also there are some similar but slightly different writings of "Old Negev" that appear to be more common south of the Pergatoire. Have you been along the Pergatoire? If so, did you see those writings in New Mexico?
ReplyDeleteCatherine,
ReplyDeleteAs a matter of fact I have looked at the Old Negev inscriptions which were featured in the Bat Creek episode from last season. I was very impressed with the weathering of the those inscriptions as I had century-old dated inscriptions for comparison. They are much older and could indeed be centuries old.
The desert southwest seems to have been a favorite destination for pre-Columbian cultures prior to the Spanish. A lot more work needs to done in this area including archaeology at several sites. There's a very good chance there's more to be discovered at the location where the Tucson lead Artifacts were discovered.
hello, my name is morgan b. I live in Oklahoma city, Oklahoma, and have studied to become an art historian with only 13 - 14 more credit hours left till I qualify for graduation to receive my degree. I tried to send an email to America unearthed but the browser refuses everything I do to try to contact you guys. ive come across something very interesting that may prove a culture FAR older and architecturally advanced than the Clovis culture may very likely have existed. possibly even as far back as before the last ice age. ive been looking through satellite images of the ocean floor off the atlantic and found MANY ocean floor anomalies. location is as followed; 31.082554, -79.706769 about 70 - 80 miles off the coast of Brunswick Florida. this continues and connects to a second location moving south then connecting to an intersection moving at a right angle to the east off of Jacksonville Beach, Florida by 70 - 75 or so miles. this location is; 30.253184, -79.691498 when it moves east a series of 5 small anomalies appear in view resembling what you would see from a birds eye view of Egyptian style pyramids in their shadow. if you follow that direction east you would see a significant rise in geometric grid style patterns of immense width and size. ive heard of the bog people of florida, where it was believed that they may be ancient Europeans. if these apparent anomalies are in fact artificial in nature, then this would prove the connection of pre-European cultures existing and possibly living in massive structural cities at one time when the ocean level was far lower than post ice age cultures. this may prove advanced cultures could have existed long before the last ice age. if proven, this would entirely rewrite history in ALL fields. if you wish to contact me, please let me know and I will give you my information.
ReplyDeleteMorgan,
DeleteThere is no doubt that due to sea level rise many ancient archaeological sites, included many pre-Clovis sites no doubt exist. Whether there are underwater pyramids that exist remains to be seen.
Underwater archaeology is no doubt the wave of the future with a lot of amazing news discoveries sure to found.
Hello Mr. Wolter,
DeleteMorgan B. again from Oklahoma. I agree on your comment about pre-Clovis cultures' existing, along with sunken cities' as well. Granted, no complete 100% hard evidence of lost "sunken pyramids'" or truly "immense" cities' have been found underwater as of yet (aside from Alexandria, and Heracleion). However, take into account many ancient cultures' such as the Egyptians', Tibetan culture, Mesopotamian/Sumerian, even the ancient Irish just to name a few, spoke of "past" civilizations' with vast knowledge of technology, science, medicine, culture etc.. existing long before recorded history.
As we know, myth and legend is based on some element of truth. One example would be the lost city of Troy. Many believed it existed only in legend, yet it took one eccentric man who obsessed over finding the "treasure of Agamemnon" to discover it, even after being labeled a fraud/treasure hunter/grave robber by the news media of his time. Granted, Troy was discovered on dry land, and dated long after the last ice age, the idea of a lost mythical city now found remains. I would bet that there are many "advanced" cultures' of legend now long lost, existing deep on the ocean floor, and buried.
A second example was found off the coast of Cambay, India. I believe this was recently in the news over the past half year or so. It is believed to be one of the many lost cities' of Indian folklore. Its' also rumored to measure five miles long, by two miles wide, and built on a massive stone foundation. Reportedly, the city dates to around 9,500 years old, predating known archaeological sites in India, showing advanced architectural knowledge. Multiple stone structures' were also found on top of the main foundation. As was reported.
A site off the west/north/western tip of Cuba was also discovered, within the past three years'. I even came across a bizarre anomaly off the south/south/western coast of Ireland, in a deep valley as well. However, this peculiarity is only visible on google maps. Do you think there is a lost chapter of human history or two that we missed? Is it possible that we have been prevented from knowing the truth of the age of humanity and culture?
I understand natural disasters' tend to destroy entire cultures' over a period of time, even wipe out all records' of their existence from history. Remember the coordinates' I gave from my last message? If able, look on bing maps' and you should be able to see the anomalies' off Florida's coastline. They are only visible on the browser from the "birds eye" filter.
Another peculiarity I came across, was at the entrance to the Gulf of Mexico just past Cuba. The anomaly even shows something that resembles' a dam or bay inlet in front of the site on the ocean floor. Granted, it only remains a possibility that these may be artificial. It still poses a unique question, that maybe advanced civilizations' did exist during or even before the last ice age, now lost to history. In "theory", due to their depth on the ocean floor, they "may" although highly unlikely, predate the Clovis period significantly. I understand I am no professional, so these are only theories' I have contemplated, and bits of truth and fact I have come across.
Do you think it possible that the structures' I spoke of could very well be massive cities' lost to history? Even a chapter or two lost to us, due to devastating natural disasters'? I have wondered if there was more to the story of human culture, and if the U. S. has held far more secrets' under its lakes and dirt than we could ever imagine. As you stated, the water levels' have risen and fallen for thousands of years'.
With much regard; Morgan B.
Morgan,
DeleteThe interesting structures and sites you've listed could all be very real ancient sites or very ancient natural geological features. They need to be investigated and likely will in the future.
Many believe in ancient, now extinct cultures that disappeared many millennia ago. I'm a little skeptical about that, but will always be open to new evidence if it is sound.
It would be interesting if even one of this sites turned out to an ancient city.

ReplyDeleteSolutrean projectile points
Atl atl invented in Europe but was used extensively in the Americas before and after the “bow and arrow” was invented.
It is very probable that the Solutrean people brought the atl atl to America from western Europe and that the Solutrean projectile points were atl atl points and not spears or arrowheads.
I have collected many atl atl points on my farm in northwest Florida and can assure you that they are very different from either a spear point, arrow or farming implement. Arrowheads are very small and short, spear points are much longer and wider, atl atl points are generally about 3-inches long; some are slender and others more broad, which is in my opinion is due to the time frame in which they were knapped. Dr. Jim Dunbar, retired Florida Archaeology Director did several comprehensive studies of the atl atl and is perhaps one of the most knowledgeable experts on the subject. One of Dr. Dunbar’s excellent and detailed articles is still on the Internet: http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/natsci/vertpaleo/aucilla10_1/atlatl.htm
My point is that I believe the Solutrean people brought the atl atl to America from western Europe and that the Solutrean projectile points were atl atl points and not spears or arrowheads.

Dear Scott,In a previous episode about the missing copper from the U.P. you showed a rock carving of a ship done by native americans.Could that ship possibly be Phoenician? If not tell me why? Thanks Frank Buck Michigan
ReplyDeleteBill,
DeleteTo be honest, I'm not sure what type of ship that carving is. My gut reason for not thinking it's Phoenician is I don't think the carving would be in as good of condition that it's in if it were 2-3 thousand years old.
It looks more like a Viking-era ship to me, but I'm not an expert on period styles of ships.
Hello Mr. Wolter.
DeleteI just red the message above, about the carved depiction of an ancient ship, as stated by Mr. Buck. This is very intriguing to me. I have lived in Oklahoma for the majority of my life aside from my years' in college, and in Dublin Ireland on a short study abroad program for ancient Irish culture.
After returning from Ireland, I decided to transfer colleges' to St. Gregory's University in Shawnee Oklahoma, and continued following art history as my major. I do remember coming across a fascinating story, following the local history of Shawnee. The thought of Native Americans' carving a depiction of an ancient ship, be it Viking or Phoenician may not be far fetched. The story in reference involves an ancient stone carving, depicting Viking runes'. It is rumored to have been found by a man named Jim Estep, when he was taking his 7 year old son in law Mikel, and another young child named David Sersen, on a snake hunt in a local tributary, on the North Canadian River in 1969.
The stone was reported to have been partially buried, an inch deep in the soil, and hidden among weeds'. It measured 14 inches' long, and slightly oval shaped. When they dug it out and turned it over, they hoped to find a snake. That's when they noticed the carvings' on the underside of the stone. Jim had informed his mother in law about it, and was then asked to bring the stone back. Apparently, Mikel had used a frog-gig to clean the mud out of the letters', which I assume was a fishing lure.
I have heard a second stone was recovered as well, in
Heavener, Oklahoma. Sadly, it is believed to be a hoax. Regardless of the matter, a third was uncovered near Poteau. Some of the characters' on this one are "rumored" to have been in use during the 2nd and 8th century AD. I have heard whisper, that more have been discovered as well. Aside from the Heavener stone, it seems the others' may be authentic.
It appears Vikings' truly did reach North America, and made their way further inland as well. I too, have heard stories' of an ancient culture in South America, resembling Europeans' of Viking decent. However the rumors' in South America are only thus.
If even one of the stones' found in Oklahoma are in fact 100% authentic, it would label the state as being a place of significant importance for archaeologists', and historians'. This would prove other states' may have stones' as well. Ancient settlements' are not out of the question either. If this is true, it would rewrite the history of the country, and state. I believe further study would be much needed. If this strikes interest for you Mr. Wolter, it may be something you might want to look into. For Mr. Buck? I do hope this helps with your question of the carved depiction of the ship. Considering the finds' I spoke of, it is likely to be Viking in origin.
With utmost regards; Morgan B.
Morgan,
DeleteI am very aware of the Heavener and Poteau Rune Stones in Oklahoma. In fact, if you watch our Vikings episode you will see me examining the Heavener inscription which I am convinced is authentic.
The other runic inscriptions in Oklahoma are likely genuine as well. However, it is difficult to determine their age because of the rock type and the unclear provenance. The history of the Heavener Stone is well documented and suggests Norse contact back as far as 800 A.D.
I have no problem with that at all.
Watching your search for Davie Crockett, I remember in the little Texas town of Action jest south of Fort Worth in the cementary is a large monument to the Crockett family.
ReplyDeleteRoy Gouyton
gouyton@gci.net
While down in Alabama we saw tombstones in the local cemetery with relatives of Davey and the name Crockett. There are actually many Crockett descendants in the south.
Deletemr wolter I just watched episode on davy crockett, A while back I saw on tv, don't know what show but someone found a journal written by Mexicans , don't remember who but in it was stated that the Mexicans killed everyone there and saved crockett for last and he was bayoneted ..
ReplyDeleteThat was why we used that scene in the reenactment. I still say he more than likely survived; maybe the bayonet story was part of the cover-up?
DeleteDear Scott,
ReplyDeleteThe History channel showed the episode you did on the Denver Airport this morning,so I was inspired to write to you about something else that is ODD about the airport. There are several parking lots on the road approaching the airport that have ALOT of cars parked in them, but no buildings. If you go on Google Earth you can see them. Where do you think all those people are? I believe there is a base under the airport and those people work there. Check it out!
There may well be an underground base regardless of what I did or didn't see. In the end, I'm not overly concerned. If the government has a secret underground facility there's nothing I'm going to do about it and part of me is glad they apparently have a back-up plan if something major hits.
DeleteThe only issue I have is when people blatantly lie. I'm sure if certain government officials could answer they’d probably say the need for secrecy is in the interest of national security. Having worked in the Pentagon after 9-11, I can appreciate this position in certain instances.
Hey Scott!
ReplyDeleteI just watched the New World Order episode you did in Denver Airport!..What was that Alien doing on the wall? The Scene where you're underground, then the wall is shown with what seems to be a pipe in a backwards "L": Shape...There is clearly an Alien on the wall,Head is visible, along with the eyes, left shoulder, partial right shoulder, partial left arm and torso!....Freaky!!! there's more than meets the eye going on there!!! Well..Later man..Have Fun!!
Rosendo,
ReplyDeleteI saw the alien on the wall and asked Stacy about it. She laughed and said, "Bored baggage handlers."
Hi Scott. I see there is a new show in search of giants but this one might relate to you, in Walkerton Indiana large skeletons were found in the 20s by two brothers that were farmers and they were laying in a wagon wheel position heads together with copper body armour and white substance in pouches. It is documented at the library. It made the news paper backed then. I researched and its true my cousin lives next to property and her husband hunts there, he thought they were Indian mounds oh I didn't mention the height the newspaper stated 9ft 8in to10ft there's more mounds there and my cousin said he can see where one mound was unearthed. Since its just below Michigan border will it have anything to do with the copper mines? My cousin called me back and said the south bend historical is offering to buy it.
ReplyDeleteOne of our highest rated shows in season 1 was about Giants in Minnesota. There was talk of doing another episode about giants and then nothing. It looks like the network decided there was enough there to launch another series. So far it looks interesting and we'll see what the brothers come up with. Right now I'm focused on other areas of research, but I could be coaxed into it if we had the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteTo figure out if your cousin's mounds had anything to do with the Copper Culture they'd have to excavate it. That is going to be difficult given federal laws protecting burial mounds. Maybe the local historical society has their own plan?
The Kutenai that were encountered by Meriwether Lewis were the ones said to sound Welsh. Their (Ktunaxa) language is an isolate, unlike any other in North America. Check the Fabled Coast: Legends and Traditions from around the shores of Great Britain by searching "Kutenai Welsh Language".
ReplyDeleteThe canoe photographed at Flathead Lake in 1910 by Edward Curtis has a very non-typical wide mid-ship hull, somewhat reminiscent of the Welsh Coracle and has an animal skin for covering. The Kutenai are known for their unique sturgeon-nosed canoe, so the one in the Edward Curtis images with the high stern and bow is an anomaly.
On another note, Albert Ostman described his kidnapping by Bigfoot in 1924. I was able to map out a possible route based on his publication and there might be something worth checking out. He specifically mentions a rock overhang in an alpine bowl. It would be nice to find out if that place is still there.
Troy,
ReplyDeleteThis is the kind of specific factual evidence that I find so compelling. We only scratched the surface in our investigation into early Welsh contact in North America episode we aired in Season 1. As far as Bigfoot goes, stay tuned for an episode coming up in season 3!
I just watched your show on David Crockett. Found it interesting but have a couple of questions for you on it. First I do think he died at the Alamo and if he didn't like you suggest and save his hide by showing San Anna ( a fellow Mason) the old get out of jail sign to save himself to go on to Alabama to start a new life then the hero sort of makes him a coward. Not in his make up according to his family. As far as the David Crockett Cagel that appears to have been in Alabama at that time. Would I get more as David Crockett or David Crockett Cagel? Reminds me of the Texan who declared up til his death he was Billy the Kid and DNA says no. People like to use to latch on to living or dead celebrity. If dead hard to deny. He still had family didn't he at that time, would you abandon them?
ReplyDeleteI don't agree that his survival at the Alamo makes him a coward at all. On the contrary, he did fight valiantly and at 50 years old, he might have arrived at a point in his life where he had had enough of being Davey Crockett. He wasn't really a dedicated family man as far as I could tell and I believe his children would have full grown by this time. Perhaps he wanted to live out his days out of the spotlight. I don't think that makes him a coward, just a more complex person than the legend we've all heard about.
ReplyDeleteBut then, aren't most people increasingly complex as we learn more about them?
There is a wall in the SanFrancisco Bay area that is above San Jose, and Milpitas that runs to Berkeley and is very ancient. No one knows where it came from or what it was used for.
ReplyDeleteTeri,
ReplyDeleteStay tuned for a later episode this season; you just might see that wall!
;-)
Scott Wolter,
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you knew anything regarding the lost city of Telos, from the civilization Lemuria. I would be very interested in learning more about it if at all possible.
Hello Mr. Wolter.
ReplyDeleteI apologize if I have sent to many messages', and have caused any frustration for you, as it was not intended. I tend to become very fascinated with ancient civilizations' lost to history, or recorded in mythology and legend, and get carried away with the "what if" scenario on occasion. I guess it is because I see great importance in such things', as they are a connection to our past.
I am watching the episode of your's called "Chamber Hunting". What strikes me as fascinating about it, is that I have heard many stories over the years' of such chambers' being ancient tombs', or chambers' with hidden tombs inside of them, possibly hidden behind a false wall or so. On occasion, I have heard rumors' of ancient bones' being uncovered all across North America which usually end up being larger than a normal human. Granted, such a thing would belong in mythology more than anything, yet some people feel these structures' may be attributed to an ancient lost culture known as well... "giants'". I am not saying that I believe the stories, but there are legends' in Native American culture all across North America of such people once existing. Such stories are even found all throughout Europe as well.
I understand you were denied entry to the land that held the structure in this episode, and that it was you specifically. What struck me as unique, is that all of these so called "Giant" bones' have vanished, or were taken. similar sites' have been found all across Europe and the middle east as well. Yet what they all have in common are large structures' very much like the one seen in the first half of the episode, and hold many similarities in how they were built.
Is it possible, that these sites' may be attributed to the same ancient "giant" culture? Could it even be possible that the ones' that denied you entry to the land this one structure was on, were afraid you might have discovered something connected to this culture, or even uncover the "bones" of a "giant"? I only bring this up due to my curiosity of the new show called "In Search of Giants'". I too have heard such "discoveries'" often gain the attention of, I guess you could say, high up "government officials'" that have a tendancy to want to cover up such evidence from being found, and confiscate it as well. However, as you state in the show, it could have been made by ancient Irish as well, or even the Knights Templer or Freemasons'. Whichever the case, I am sure the site would prove very important.
With the utmost regards; Morgan B.
If there are any giant bones that were found in Native burial mounds or caves in North America, you can sure the Smithsonian has them tucked away where no one will ever see them. As to giants making the underground chambers, I'm so sure about that. If so, I'd expect them to be larger and more extensive.
DeleteHello Scott I have an integral correlation dealing with megalithic sites and those connected abroad. I hope it is helpful. Many believe the important alignments deal with planting/ harvesting and related sacred celebrations. Since the cultivation dates, harvest dates and celebrations of thousands of religions a quite varied-I propose that since all megalithic alignments are exact almost to a minute in a per year cycle. I have a sincere belief that these areas are a site for exploratory peoples to keep a very accurate itinerary. If your an Irish explorer you could construct a version of a site (accurate in your homeland) at a base camp area-now these sites are what you see and investigate. As your group travels across a great expanse you and supply ships additional explorers and even your ships that will pick you up, even groups headed in different directions can have a very accurate time piece to meet up and share discoveries, transport valuables to awaiting ships and provide and share products (like corn) and restock trade items to use with interactions with indigenous peoples- ritual links found in these areas could also be a center to carry out ceremonies (also accurately timed) so your central exploratory groups could gather at appropriate times to carry out important rituals --when I visit Scotland, large stones with spirals are oriented with linked markers and it seemed to me that the times between solstices could be broken down into an almost day / week /month calendar. I think that our ancestors might have called these megalithic itinerary stones.
ReplyDeleteI have not heard anything about the City of Telos, but I will look into it. Yet another interesting mystery out there.
ReplyDeleteHey Scott, In Vera Cuz, Mexico there is a civilization called the Olmecs. Decades ago they dug up these huge massive stone heads that resemble Africans. Dr. Ivan Van Sertima wrote a book called They Came Before Columbus citing historical references proving Africans came to America prior to Columbus. I think you will find this interesting. Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteI'm aware of this book and about the Olmecs some believe came from Africa. I think there's definitely a case to be made for that idea and I'm hoping to get the opportunity to look into that on the show.
ReplyDeleteWe'll see...
From reading Van Serima's book, I am not 100% if the Olmecs depict Africans because some Natives have those features. However, from the historica documents he used, I can say with confident some Africans did come here prior to Columbus. Love the show.
DeleteHello Mr. Wolter.
ReplyDeleteI watched your show on the Judiculla Rock, if I spelled that correctly. I think I may have an alternate theory of the stone's origin, rather than that of the "slant eyed giant". Have you ever heard of what the Cherokee call, the "Moon Eyed Children"? There is a myth/legend in their culture of a race of people or "beings" for lack of another word, that existed long before the Cherokee, and in some cases, thought to have a connection to their creation story. These ancients' were said to have had a vast knowledge of astronomy, worshiped the moon/stars', and only came out during the night. They too, are said to have a high sensitivity to light as well, and lived in a kind of burrow or cave, similar to that of "fairy's" in Celtic folklore. They are believed to resemble regular people to a point, but hold a curious set of odd features'. Such include, large pale almond shaped eyes, that reflect light at night, bodies' of around 4 - 5 feet in height, and some in rarity of 6'. Other features' include white/silver to grey, or blond hair, and pale grey to white skin.
I remember hearing once of an ancient wall, stretching over a long distance, with a unique gate like doorway crossing through it, in North Carolina I believe. No one knows who built the structure, or how old it could be, but some Cherokee feel its connected with these m.e.d.'s as well. Do you remember the stone head that was shown to you in the episode? It holds some of the unique characteristics' that these ancient "people" are said to have, even down to the large almond shaped eyes'. Do you think it possible that such a race could have existed at one time? If so, could this explain the Judiculla Stone's origin? Thirdly, could that stone head have been a representation of one of these m.e.d.s'?
With greatest regards; Morgan B.
Hello Mr. Wolter;
ReplyDeleteI apologize for my abbreviation of "m.e.d.'s." I meant to type m.e.c. in abbreviation for "moon eyed children". As it is late here, my dyslexia tends to act up on occasion. I apologize for the confusion. As for the theory of these "m.e.c.'s" possibly having a connection to the Judiculla Stone, it is only a thought. However it is interesting to think about as a possibility, even if they are mythological in nature.
With greatest regards; Morgan B.
Morgan,
ReplyDeleteFirst, I am going to move your comments here to my blog post on the Cherokee episode when I post it later today. I'm going to the Vikings/Packers game at noon with my son and will post it this afternoon.
Second, your comments about the "Moon Eyed Children" legend are also valid. I'll have more comments on this later today.
Thank you for the insightful comments.
Scott - big fan of your show. Don't know if you've discussed this here already - how much time do you spend at each location filming these shows? And how many crew members are there on location? I'm sure there's a lot of pre production - camera work and some interviews that can be done before or after you get on scene, but I'm wondering how involved you have to be to film an episode. Thank - keep up the good work - Don
ReplyDeleteDon,
ReplyDeleteI don't want to give away too many of our secrets, but here's what I can tell you. Typically we spend about six days filming in the field per episode with a crew of between 5 to 8 (including me) depending on the location(s) and what we're trying to do.
There is a ton of preparation beforehand with logistics, permits, releases, research, writing, etc., and of course a ton of post production work along with reenactments, graphics, sound, it's a ton of work for each episode. I also have to record voiceovers for each episode and there's only one guy who goes on every shoot!
We have a fantastic group of talented people at Committee Films who work their tails off to make me look way better than I really am. They really do an amazing job.
Scott, have you done much research on possible Phoenician petroglyps in South America?
ReplyDeleteCatherine,
ReplyDeleteI have not, but I'm hoping to in the near future. There are a ton of mysteries to be investigated in the Southern Hemisphere including evidence of the ancient Phoenicians.
I enjoy this tv show a lot.
ReplyDeleteI'm huge on history and mystery books etc.
the destined stone that was stolen by a group trying to do a new religion called the new world may of barebones whistled the stone that we in the water way back?
well maybe a lead dies?
The first location of the "Mission Valero", otherwise known as the "Alamo" is in question. The location of the "Alamo" today is the 3rd location. Tge first two were masde of wood and didn't last in storms. The Daughtrers of the Republic of Texas, located on the grounds of the Alamo today, could answer questions ypou may have. My name is Jeffrey Woolley ph. 210-319-0338. please call me if I can assist in any way. currently there is excavation going on in "Columbus Park" in downtown San Antonio. Some believe that the first location was there. Some believe that the first location was at the corner of Ruiz St. and Laredo St. the street names have changed, but on that location is where th "Chapel of the Miracles"now sits. Ask DRT, at the Alamo Library on the grounds of the Alamo Shrine Park.
ReplyDeleteHave you considered looking into the Indian Burial Mounds of Ohio? Thanks, Vic Millard victor_millard@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteVic,
DeleteWe have touched on them in the "Lost Tribes" episode, but I'd like to do more at some point. I have a good idea for that show.
Jeff,
ReplyDeleteIsn't almost always the case that the true story about any place is more complicated, and more interesting than the popular one?
It'll be interesting to see what the dig uncovers.
Hi Scott, I'm writing to thank you for opening up our eyes to what truly happened in Americas past. I've always felt as though there was something more, another side of the story if you will, than what we were taught in school. Also, I want to wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and continued success.
ReplyDeleteRick
Rick,
ReplyDeleteThank you; and Happy Holidays to you and yours. 2015 should be an exciting year.
Scott
Please investigate the underwater stones next to Bimini Islands, The Bahamas. These stones are known as "Bimini Road". There are conflicting claims that the stones are the remains of "Atlantis". Thanks for your help.
ReplyDeleteKevin
Hello scott
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you would travel to mexico if they told you there might be a piece of history there
Thalia,
DeleteI have been to Mexico investing aspects of the Mayans and I would welcome the opportunity to go back! Do you have any suggestions?
I don't know anything about the possible association with Atlantis, but I'm confident we could determine if it was man-made or natural. That in itself would be helpful I would think.
ReplyDeleteI really like your show...always have been interested in ancient history. Someone gave me a book many years ago called "BC America." I don't know if it is still available, but it has some of the same things that you talk about on your show. Have you ever done anything with the mysterious stones on Easter island in the Pacific being connected to some of the things you have discussed? Also, this is a different subject but if you look at the new DNA testing they can do now, it can pinpoint exactly where people originate from. They have done testing on native American tribes and there is absolutely no middle east Semitic DNA in there history. I think this DNA science can be added to ancient people searches.
ReplyDeleteI am very familiar with Barry Fell's work although I think he overreached in some cases. I'm also hoping to visit Easter Island in the coming year so stay tuned on that.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the DNA testing goes, I totally agree with you that there will no doubt be important new light cast and a greater understanding of human migration and diffusion realized as more results are published. It should be very exciting!
Cut to the chase ...How Do We.Go About Changing History Scott??
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm going to keep doing what I do and I encourage people to read and learn as much as they can. If we some people to speak up; you're the first guy I'll call Wayne!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the Illinois Blood Stone the first time on your show, I immediately saw a man blowing wind.
ReplyDeleteThe last part of the voyage home across open water (lakes and oceans) would need favorable winds.
A sacrifice to gain favorable winds would easily have been made in ancient times.
My thoughts. Christine
P.S. Always looking forward to your show!
Would you consider doing a story of the African Americans that were in the whaling business out of Mass? I find that story a very important part of the black history that has been lost. You could start with the Sag Harbor Whaling Museum. I have never seen one of the journals that a black sailor would have written. I think it would be wonderful if you could find a copy or two and show case it. Christine
ReplyDeletePS I don't know computers well so I am posting under Anonymous. Thank you.
Christine,
DeleteYou're doing fine. Any and all ideas are on the table. I'll add it to the list and we'll see.
Keep em' coming!
Christine,
ReplyDeleteThat makes some sense to me too. The pursed lips that has a hole in it could also have been made to simulate blowing. I couldn't definitely tell when that hole was put into the mouth, but it could have been there all along and designed for blood to flow from the basin, down the hole now filled with lead, and then out the mouth to collect in the basin below the chin. It sounds a little gruesome, but if you believed it would get you home on the very long voyage to come, I'm sure they wouldn't hesitate for a second.
I like that idea a lot Christine; nice!
Hey Scott I'm sitting here watching your episodes and I love them. Just wondering if you have read the Book of Mormon? The Book of Mormon is a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible. It is a record of God’s dealings with ancient inhabitants of the Americas and contains the fulness of the everlasting gospel.
ReplyDeleteThe book was written by many ancient prophets by the spirit of prophecy and revelation. Their words, written on gold plates, were quoted and abridged by a prophet-historian named Mormon. The record gives an account of two great civilizations. One came from Jerusalem in 600 B.C. and afterward separated into two nations, known as the Nephites and the Lamanites. The other came much earlier when the Lord confounded the tongues at the Tower of Babel. This group is known as the Jaredites. After thousands of years, all were destroyed except the Lamanites, and they are among the ancestors of the American Indians.
The crowning event recorded in the Book of Mormon is the personal ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ among the Nephites soon after His resurrection. It puts forth the doctrines of the gospel, outlines the plan of salvation, and tells men what they must do to gain peace in this life and eternal salvation in the life to come.
After Mormon completed his writings, he delivered the account to his son Moroni, who added a few words of his own and hid up the plates in the Hill Cumorah. On September 21, 1823, the same Moroni, then a glorified, resurrected being, appeared to the Prophet Joseph Smith and instructed him relative to the ancient record and its destined translation into the English language.
In due course the plates were delivered to Joseph Smith, who translated them by the gift and power of God. The record is now published in many languages as a new and additional witness that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God and that all who will come unto Him and obey the laws and ordinances of His gospel may be saved.
Concerning this record the Prophet Joseph Smith said: “I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.”
In addition to Joseph Smith, the Lord provided for eleven others to see the gold plates for themselves and to be special witnesses of the truth and divinity of the Book of Mormon. Their written testimonies are included herewith as “The Testimony of Three Witnesses” and “The Testimony of Eight Witnesses.”
You should read it and visit all of the Mormon Sites I would greatly enjoy it.
Thanks J

J,
ReplyDeleteI have had three copies of the BoM sent to me and if given the opportunity I will be happy to look into some of its historical claims.
Stay tuned.
Hello Scott,
ReplyDeleteI watch your show as I find these topics quite interesting. We have quite a interesting episode in Wyoming's history that I believe may worth investigating. What I find most bizarre is how the gold prospectors found this in a "sealed"
cave/cavern!??? Anyway, thought you may find this of some interest. Here's the link: http://www.legendsofamerica.com/wy-littlepeople.html
From a Wyoming resident
Hey Scott, can you do a show about the Thoen Stone found in 1887 on Lookout Mountain in Spearfish South Dakota. It is a hand inscribed stone that is dated 1834 and deals with gold and Indians. The stone is now located in the Adams Museum In Deadwood SD. I think it would make a good show.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Pauly from Loves Park IL
If you were going to look into the BOM and Mormon history it would be interesting for you to look into the Lost Rhodes Mine. Gold Mine of the Gods for the Ute Indians. The gold from this mine is what allowed the Mormons to begin their own coinage. But the where abouts of the mine has been lost to history. Look for the book: Footprints in the Wilderness by one of the Rhodes descendants. kr
ReplyDeleteKR,
DeleteThanks for the tip; we'll check on it if we get another season and a chance to pursue this story.
when I watched the episode of Custer, I couldn't help but be upset when he was described as a hero. I have family documentation that he stole horse bits from my family to use on the military horses. We invented it and he tried to steal credit for it. We are a Montana family so I have said that he had his fall as Karma. Thought you should know this fact about him and his many lies.
ReplyDeleteI can appreciate people getting upset about Custer being any kind of hero. However, everybody has positives and negatives about them. His negatives apparently far outweighed his positive attributes and led to his early death. Unfortunately, it led to many other's untimely early deaths as well.
DeleteI was trying to get a sense of who he was and apparently, he was a brave guy. It was his ego that got the best of him.
Hi Scott,
ReplyDeleteYou may want to check this site out in Australia as you maybe able to make a link with sites in the State here is a link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIF_N9AWUMM these are Eygptian hyroglyphs in Gosford New South Wales Just an hour north of Sydney But the site is huge. The Aboriginals say they were done by two eygptian brothers thousands of years ago.
Cheers
Simon
Simon,
ReplyDeleteI've seen pictures of those petroglyphs before, but I'd love to travel to Australia again and see them first-hand.
Hi Scott I love watching your show every time that you do episodes on the Cherokee it reminds me of my great grandmother and the stories she told of walking on the trail of tears. I was watching your episode on the Aztec and Aztland being in Utah which I personally do not agree with, I believe that to be politics and money to get into the U.S. economy for free. I was wondering if you have thought about doing an episode about the Anasazi in southern Utah around Kanab and if maybe they were the ones leaving symbols and burials in that area. Even if was not them they were not like the Aztec because they had no far away land they were from this area and no one knows what happened to them
ReplyDeleteIt would be interesting to hear some of those stories of your great grandmother; I'll be they were heartbreaking. If you haven't done it yet, I suggest you write down all the memories you have of those stories. It might not seem that important to you, but it is important.
DeleteAs for the Aztecs in Utah, I think the evidence is very persuasive although not yet conclusive. We need more archaeology to confirm it.
Hi Scott, My mom is a big fan of yours. She wants me to tell you to check out the "Mammoth Rubs"on the Sonoma Coast. They are big boulders that wooly mammoths used to rub their butts on and the boulders are polished. The rocks are called the Jasper Rocks. They are north of Bodega Head and south of Goat Rock. I checked them out. They are cool.
ReplyDeleteA. Columbo,
DeleteTell your mom that's a great idea. I have seen highly polished purple quartzite at the Jeffers Petroglyph site in Southwestern Minnesota, that was so highly polished by buffalos rubbing their bodies against it that the rock outcrops glistened in the sun.
Seeing the same thing on jasper, which would take a high polish from sand and clay in the fur of mammoths would be very cool indeed.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Hi Scott. I'm Jonathan. You have inspired me so much and gave me a purpose. Your shown open up my eyes. I would love nothing more than to just follow you and just learn from the best. I never knew what in wanted to do till I seen you. What you do is so interesting and fun and crucial. If I had one dream it would beto meet you follow you and just see what and how you do it. Im sure I'm not the first to ask for this but hopefully I'm the one who caught your eye or your assistance eye. Plz if you're ever in southern Indiana call me 8125930760 have a great day Scott
ReplyDeleteJonathan,
ReplyDeleteI'm thrilled to hear your eyes have been opened and I'm sure it will lead to a rewarding path for you. I have two assistants at the moment, my wife, Janet, and my son, Grant. My daughter Amanda is currently in college, but she's ready and raring to go too.
Anyway, thanks for the kind words and best of luck in your journey.
Scott, have you looked at some of the unusual petroglyph scripts in some of the canyon walls in West Texas? Apparently there are some that pre-date the more recent Plains Indians and may point to pre-Columbian contacts.
ReplyDeleteDevorah
devorahschroeder@yahoo.com
Devorah,
ReplyDeleteSounds interesting; do you have any pictures you can share?
Dear Scott,
ReplyDeleteI live in Imperial Missouri I'm not very far from the Mississippi River. I learned about ten years ago about the Thunderbird the native Indians called I found out that the Indians drew a petroglyph of the Thunderbird on a rock bluff looking over the Mississippi in Alton IL. I believe. I know the Cahokia Indians drew it. I was wondering if you have heard of it and I was wondering if you knew if they were drawing a real bird that was alive back then. Thankh for your time I love to find out more about this. Thank you again. Tina Erba
hi Scott, loved your show last night , i love it when it's about the Nights Templar, my grand father William Wetmore was a free mason , when i was a kid i ask him about his free mason ring, he said he couldn't talk about it , as a kid of 14 i ask why , he said he would have to kill me lol so we didn't talk about it anymore, i have been working on my family tree , my grand father name was change from Whitmore to to Wetmore in the 1600 hundred's when they came to America . my 23rd great grand father was Fulk v. de anjiou count, king of Jerusalem . i believe what you believe about Jesus and the knights Templar , so please keep going dont ever stop we need to know the truth
ReplyDeleteFreemasons are getting less tight-lipped than only a few decades ago which I think is a good thing. They have certain secrets they won't share of course, but being more open I think helps the "Craft." We could use more Masons in the world today IMHO.
DeleteI can assure you we will never stop searching for the truth!
Hi Tina,
ReplyDeleteOne of the purposes of the Thunderbird carving/drawing was to preserve historical knowledge. You'll notice the number of vertical lines on the wings varies and has to do with numbers of years in certain cases. Each lines can represent tens, hundreds, thousands, or more numbers of years.
It's all actually quite sophisticated and only certain people within the tribe understood the ancient teachings.
Mr. Wolter, I watch closely when you refer to the Knights Templar. I find it very interesting. I wanted to share my thoughts on what I think the Holy Grail is. It is the blood line. It is the written blood line. In the bible the blood lines are very important in the Old Testament. This has continued both in the Jewish and Catholic faith. In the Catholic faith each child (born) baptized, first communion, confirmation, and marriage (or priesthood) is recorded in the original church. No matter what Catholic Church any of these done, all records go back to the church where the child was baptized. The Holy Grail is the record of only Christ's blood line. The New Testament lists the linage of Christ. Both the Catholic and Jewish faith stop there. When all three of these records, the old Jewish, the individual Catholic Church and the Holy Grail (the linage of Christ) are brought together will we find the link to Christ in our modern day. Next time you are in a Catholic Church anywhere in the world ask to see their baptismal records. And you will see how they record the possible linage of any person that was baptized at that church. I would love to hear you thoughts on this. Christine tuckchristine@yahoo.com Thank you
ReplyDeleteChristine,
ReplyDeleteYou might want to post your thoughts here on the "Venus Families" blog about Saturday night's show. Just click on 2015 at the top and you'll see it. There's a very active conversation on this subject matter going on right now.
With regard to the Holy Grail being a bloodline(s), I totally agree. Not only does the Catholic Church keep accurate birth and death records, the Venus Families do as well.
I am really dismayed by your THEORY that Jesus and Mary had a child. It is blasphemy and destroys the FACT that Christ was and is Holy. It was his HOLY blood that died so that you and I might be saved. To say he had a child DESTROYS the salvation of the world. A fan no more
ReplyDeleteScott on the episode. Jan 24 the deadliest secret when you talked about the Last Supper you said Mary Madgelin was there and not John the Baptist. I do believe that is wrong John the Baptist was dead before the last supper occurred. St John who was the youngest of the apostles was present. Really enjoy watching your shows but have to question you on this one. Thanks for your time Rose Stein
ReplyDeleteScott Do you know what the youth are called who are studying to become mason's. Here is a clue, their name is forever tied to the man and Friday the thirteenth.
ReplyDeleteScott, I have really enjoyed your show. Your continued references to the Knights Templar keep reminding me of a book I read a few years back you may find interesting. It tells a similar story:

I know you are a scientist, but you may find some insight from the writings of psychic community, which references many of the ideas you present.
